“Piano Techno”, ever heard of it? I hope not, because I might have discovered a new music genre then. ;-)

“Piano”, because all of the sounds you hear in it are from my little Weinbach (except for the acoustic metronome). The snare noises for example are just broken strings being hit.

“Techno”, ‘cause the composition style is quite minimalist and reminds of electronic techno. Also because the backing track is mixed live with the melody line (no programming or layered mixing, just practising) using Dj mixing software. The glitchy sounds are also created by messing with the standard equalising buttons.

Those who are into techno may recognise Johannes Heil’s Golden Dawn in it, just that it’s far more happy.

The track is available on my soundclick page, but since the mp3 coding really deforms it, there's also a high quality ogg-file.

Enjoy, and don't be too serious about it. :)

hmmm... certainly a creative piece and a creative concept.
You could make an entire album of this and name it "Pianos," and it'd be a more spirited album than Guitars ever was :-)
