I just heard Pictures In The Dark about a week ago and it immediately caught my attention, the mix of voices, the sublime guitar solo and most of all the strangely poetic and evocative lyrics...
The thing is I can't get the bl**dy thing out of my head now! I keep humming the tune and I'm listening to it over and over again... It really is a great song and it's a pity its only getting released on the new Platinum Collection as the 7" version - I've heard both and the 12" is far superior in my opinion - no huge musical differences, it's just even more hypnotic and layered...
Does anyone else share my enthusiasm for this song!? Or has this topic already been covered on here...

Mmmm......PITD makes an appearance in the topics here from time-to-time (if you do an open forum search, you'll find five pages of topics, some of which are even about PITD ;) ). You'll also find that some of us indeed share your enthusiasm for the piece. At the moment (for several, actually) it's my favorite song-type MO work. I have the 12-inch vinyl and then the video version on Elements.

Ah...btw....welcome to tubular.net!
