I don't think for a minute that Roger and Dave have become all that friendly, more that they are burying their feelings to unite for something bigger than their squabbles.  So I don't think that the reunion will be ongoing - maybe one last tour is the most we can hope for, I'd say.

I do wonder how long they'll get to play however.  Let's face it, the Floyd need more than a 15 minute slot.  I also wonder what they'll play.  I'd guess Money for starters - it's certainly relevant.

I wonder what Roger will say if Gilmour wants to do some stuff from Division Bell or Momentary Lapse of Reason?  :)

I hope the concert is broadcast in Australia, or a DVD comes out. I'd hate to not have the chance to hear this.

I think Roger would tell him where to shove it. And really, I can't see that happening given the best of Floyd came when all four played on the same track. Floyd post-Roger lacks something. Lacks Roger actually. It just isn't the same.

All in all, this is very good news. As for future work together? Who knows. I'm just grateful for the opportunity to see them all play together on stage again if only for 15 minutes. Maybe if they enjoy it, it could lead to more.

They are going to end the event, and are getting a 30 minute slot, and they will play 4 songs, and the talk is that at least 3 songs will be from Dark Side of The Moon :D the other song i guess would be Wish You Were Here.

I was walking down my road yesterday evening and right by my house there's a bridge that goes over a railroad track. Someone had written ROGER WATERS in big white letters. On 'The Wall', geddit? I thought this was pretty weird and quite amusing, because...

1) They'd written Roger's name and not PINK FLOYD

2) It was either the oldest graffiti artist in town, or some young kid's just discovered Roger's music

I don't think it's weird, as Roger wrote 90% of The Wall.

True, but who would have expected a graffiti artist (and may I add that this was just writing, not a potential Turner Prize nominee) to be so pedantic?

The brand name for The Wall was Pink Floyd.

True, Roger did his own live version, but I'd hardly think anyone would choose to remember that over the Floyd's version in graffiti form in 2005.

Floyd post-Roger lacks something. Lacks Roger actually. It just isn't the same.

Just like Roger without the rest of Floyd lacked a lot too.

It's all a matter of opinion my friend and in my opinion, Roger's 'Amused to Death' knocks the stuffing out of both 'Momentary Lapse of Reason' and 'The Division Bell'.

It is a masterpiece and most underrated.

Wow,  just watched Pink Floyd's performance at Live 8 :) , blew other bands/artists away, The Who did a great set too, Paul Mc Cartney's set was pretty good too.  Didn't appear to be any animosity between Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour at all. Wish I was in Hyde Park to witness this event, my friend Diana went up to Hyde Park on impulse this morning to Live 8, she was about 100yards from the stage, she didn't have a ticket, not bad eh.  I would have met up with her, but had no alternative care for disabled husband, I do miss that sense of spontaneity very much . Can't    yet  still buzzin' , so I'm playing Floyd CD's                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         :)

Oooh, what did they play? I couldn't watch it because it was only shown in Australia on pay-TV.  :(
I just hope I get to see it somehow.

I thought  the Live 8 event was meant to be free, not on pay per view, talk about TV companies cashing in :( .

Anyway the Floyd setlist was Breathe,a section from Time,  Money, Shine On You Crazy Diamond , (dedicated to Syd Barrett) and Comfortably Numb :) . Wish it could've been longer, but great stuff :D .

First of all I'm so glad I managed to get a hold of it,the hungarian channel M2 transmited live from London,I was thrilled to see this moment on a decent broadcast, because the AOL stream was lousy... icon_rolleyes.gif

In my opinion, the performace of Pink Floyd was more than good, was actually exquisite,it was worth to stay and struggle to get it,and I enjoy very much. And seeing Roger Waters among them again was the biggest surprise...

Now I know that many will say about sound problems, about Waters not that precise with his voice icon_rolleyes.gif etc.,but when you watched the performance last night, you have to consider the gesture of rejoining, the fact that despite they're age, they have gaved all their passion to make it a wonderful performance. And to be honest, seeing the people in crowd singing with their eyes closed, with a large smile and with such joy in their souls is more important that sound problems...
