I need your help this time!

Next month I'll be playing as DJ on an 80's party and I'm allowed to play some Mike tunes on it
On my set I'm going to play Moonlight Shadow(since it was a hit on partys here in the early 90's) and Mistake, and I need some suggestions of other tunes to play, when you're dancing and in a lounge mode on,but not tunes like Islands, for example.Suggestions are accepted, and it's good to promote Mike in here  ;)

I'd play Tricks of the Light, too. Though I have only danced to Moonshine and it was great but it's unfortunately not from the 80's. :)

If I were music, I would be Enigmatism.

"Family Man" was a kind of a big hit, wasn't it? It's a good dancey tune, and has a definite 80's vibe about it. I know I'd request it!

Do not miss Mike Oldfield by no means, but don't dare to forget The Cure, Talking Heads and Depeche Mode! I just can't get enough... I just can't get enough... ;) Hee hee, 80's parties must be cool.

Is there any place outside the US where the Hall and Oates "Family Man" was a big hit, and the original Oldfield version was never aired?

Of course not,as well as other 80's goodies.I'm a fan of 80's parties, when I can I'm there having fun.I got to know that Moonlight Shadow was a hit in the early 90's in my city parties, although the song is from 1983!

The fact is,I'm going to play on the lounge this time, but later on it would be on the dance floor!

Hi Tati,

my suggestions of dancey M.O. tunes would be:

Moonlight Shadow
Mistake
Familiy Man
Tricks of the light
Crime of passion
...and also......Innocent!

Wish you a lot of fun that evening!

I'd nominate Moonlight Shadow, To France and Flying Start.

Indeed, AFAIK, it's the very same synth sound (a Moog) in both pieces. :)

The Hall and Oats version was a hit here in the UK, but I don't think Mikes version did well at all. I don't actually remember  ever hearing it on the radio.
