Korgscrew Group: Super Admins Posts: 3511 Joined: Dec. 1999 Posted: Mar. 31 2004, 17:07 Please note that the site still says that the release is planned for March 23rd, not that it actually has been released, and that it's available in 1 - 2 weeks as long as it's available from the distributor. That said, I've just read a comment on oldfield.de from someone who's recieved these DVDs, so it does seem like they are out. The videos listed on JPC are The Wind Chimes and The Essential. I don't think there are any extras on the discs - it appears to be  third party who's licensed the material from Virgin, so a relatively low budget release. Back to top

I didn't know the Essential was coming out too, thats the best Oldfield news in long time. A must buy for any fan who doesn't have it, a classic performance. I'm guessing they'll include the interviews Mike gave from his studio in the Essential video (I hope) The difference with these third party releases is that the digital transfer from the master tends not to be brilliant. It's the same with the more obscure movie releases you get on DVD. They certainly arn't in 5.1 and there's often very little or no digital 'clear up' done of the image. Still they are being released at last. Now every fan can enjoy Aled Jones in his little tarten shirt and the glorious piece of Eighties film work which is the Shine video. Pop video's just don't come any better (seriously) Back to top

Hendrik Unregistered Posted: April 12 2004, 11:31 These JPC releases are cheap bootlegs copied from Japan Laserdisc versions as far as I´ve read in the oldfield.de forum. I didn´t order them ! I´ve just opened a thread in the off. Oldfield forum about releasing these old Tapes officially on DVD: http://www.mikeoldfield.com/forum/viewtopic.php?TopicID=400 I am not sure that Mike had already read all these DVD petition threads in this Forum and in my thread on oldfield.de, and I don´t think he even knows theat we fans would like to have it ,so.... to everyone, please write down that you would like to have it on DVD, even if you already had done it already here, ...please !!!!
