Can anybody help with a MO guitar sound for the Digitech 2000.

also..

Does anybody have the Tabs for 'Polka'?. I've worked out the first 8 or so bars and will continue (given time) but if anybody has got further please let me know.
Is there a studio version of Polka? and what are its origins.
Anybody know?

Thanks
Mike

I can't really help on the rest, but on the origins of Polka...

It's an Irish fiddle tune (in fact, I think two, but don't quote me on that...). I'm not sure what it's called - somebody will, though, it's quite well known (in fact, it crops up in the film Titanic).
On his early tours, Mike used to play a traditional tune from the country he was playing in at the time. I would assume that Polka was the one he played for Ireland.

I don't believe there is a studio version, though it's not commpletely impossible that Mike might have recorded a rough track to play to his band to get his ideas across. I doubt that he did, though.

Gee, Korgscrew seems to know everything! He's a Mike Oldfield superbrain!

And I love the live version of Polka, it rocks.

i think it is a traditionnal irish tune (not only fiddle tune btw)
there should be 3 different melodies.
I duno the name, in the celtic music band i had, we used to call it "polka" (without knowing mike's version)

Raven: it's not difficult to become a MO superbrain. Just read lots and lots of interviews of Mike. ;)

All i know about Polka is that it was played in 1980 Tour including in Knebworth (hell i have 3 mp3's of Polka: played in Knebworth, Preston Guild Hall and Dublin.

He usually played Polka after playing Platinum, Punkadiddle and I Got Rhythm..after that he would have a brake...probably to drink beer  :p

In Preston Guild Hall, Bimbo Acock (once again) does a mistake...stuck at the at the 1st part of Polka while the others were already playing the distortion solo part..heh it happens.

Later Polka was Arrival's single B-side
