have been thinking about some possible ideas for new projects id like to hear from mike. obviously its not my place to say what he should do, as that is his own decision and i accept and respect that. im so grateful for the huge, beautiful collection of work he has already given us, but i must admit i would be dissappointed if there was no more.

i would love to hear mike explore his folk roots and do an entirely acoustic album with acoustic guitars, bass, banjo, bodhran, etc.
thats just my thoughts, for what their worth...

hope mike and family are enjoying the sun in europe. probably heard about all the snow we've been getting here in england. (gotta admit i love the snow!;)

peace x

I wouldn't count on it. On the other hand you never know. If I could get one more CD from MO, I would like to see it be more basic, less written out and nothing "chillout".

Agreed. It would be great to hear him get back to his roots.Voyager was in part a return to his folk roots but not quite.
However i'd still love to hear him let rip on electric guitar.I think this is where Mike really excells.I love MOTS to bits but i would just like to hear that tone of his electric guitar.Without getting to tech head i'd specifically like to hear his older tones.Time to hand the SG back Yannick

Ok, but only if Mike comes here and plays the end of Ommadawn Part 1. :D
When I say here, I means in my house   ;)

But I am not sure that Ray agree with that. He wants this SG more than anything else...

:D

No,  I have an SG from 1961.  I don't need another one.  If you won't give yours back to Mr O I would lend him mine and he can play that.

I think that would be a good idea, although he has his own PRS which kind of nocks the spots off the gibson (well almost).  I would be happy with an Album of tracks of doodles on the PRS.

Couldn't disagree more. I'd like to see Mike do a third MVR game, bigger and better than the last two, with music expressing interstellar loss, rapture, and rupture.

Or.....a live album of new stuph. MO could grow his hair longer and get some old(and new) buddies together, bring Maggie Reilly into the picture. Yes, that's it. Get the beard back too. Older guys tend to cut loose as they did in their youth(Good God I'm only 8 years behind him!;). One tour, several new songs, several shows, compile it into a new CD. And lots of jamming. Tons of screaming guitar solos in the old school MO fashion. Flutes, bagpipes...... even a vintage Oberhiem. I can hear it now. "Borderland" will be the name of the new CD. Release date: March 2010. There will be at least one surprise guest. I can't say who yet. But it won't be Keith Richards. Hey, it may be only a vision, but it's a healthy one at least.....

Perhaps fulfill what Incantations really should have been? Drop the choirs, make it 45 min, one part only. and, hell, complicated.

mike has always been way ahead of the times, so if there is to be anything new, i'm sure it will come as a surprise!

I've been watching this guy(as close as an American can anyway, which isn't easy...I saw one bootleg type live recording from New York available, never heard it, but never heard of Mike really playing the USA at all or I would have seen him) and my feeling is 1: That's the end of it folx. 2: He wants to get his ya ya's out with Eugene, recharge his batteries and will be back. But don't count on more than one recording, two would be a miracle. He doesn't seem to be like the Moody Blues or the Stones with a need to fullfill the "adoration factor" untill the need for canes and walkers, but at least the Stones kept cranking out new material with reasonable regularity(no joke intended) whereas to me, the Moodies have been a jukebox since "Strange Times"...much as I love them. We're dealing with a very intelligent guy who has achieved what he wanted and seems immune to the adoration factor. The only thing to do is keep logging on to tubular.net and watch and wait.

Mike should do what he wants and what he gets a kick out of - and if we like it then great.  MOTS was good stuff, more of the same and better would be great.  Personally I hope he doesn't go down the "online games" thingamyjigs again as that wasn't my cup of tea at all.

If it does happen, I wanna hear guitar, drums, bass and keyboards. The classical thing was cool but over. As far as video games, I looked into Mike's. Too cute. I like violent shooter games. Try Zombie Horde 3 online. I want to know who finds the helicopter out of the city first.....I can get out of the Zombie infested city in under 30 minutes now.

OK Yannick i guess you get to keep the SG

@Scatterplot...grow the beard back?He couldn't grow a proper one then (by his own admission)so would a 2009 version be a grey version of the same (he says stroking his rapidly growing facial fungus)? It would be really good to hear Maggie back.I'd love to see the whole 80/81 band back.Morris Pert looks more or less the same (check out his website)but does Tim Cross still have the same taste in jumpers and does Mike Frye still have the super-perm?
This band to me represents the best love band Mike ever had.The Montreux DVD kicks ass as does Mike's playing.
