He is a composer and keyboardist from Rome. His father was an orchestra conductor, and composer as well, who worked for TV shows. Simonetti composed the music for the most famous horror movies by the Italian director Dario Argento; some of these movies are "Profondo Rosso", "Demons", "Opera", "Suspiria" and "Phenomena". The music was mostly played by Simonetti's five-piece band called Goblin. The main theme from "Profondo Rosso" is kinda famous amongst knowledgeable Mike Oldfield fans because it bears an uncanny resemblance to the piano theme from Tubular Bells. :) Simonetti's latest score, again played with Goblin, is for the latest Argento movie called "Non ho sonno". When not working for the movies, Simonetti does prog-rock covers of classical pieces, but these are not really well known. :)
