This Spanish site announces a release date for Quicksilver, but could it be true or is it just a wild guess?

Releasedate
http://www.lahiguera.net/musicalia/artistas/mike_oldfield/disco/2023/

General info

And what is this about Carlinhos Brown? Has Mike anything to do with it since his name is there? I hope some of the Spanish users of this forum can translate or explain a bit about it.

the third link is old news i think. those old rumours about mike oldfield playing in one of the events related to el quijote 4th centenary. they say the concert would be in alcalá de henares, madrid. it's more or less clear he won't be playing afaik. they announce carlinhos brown and madredeus playing as well.

for the quicksilver release date link... it sounds good to my ears. here's the translation:

Quicksilver
Pop-Rock - Chill out - Electronica
27/9/2005

Description:
Mike Oldfield is releasing a new album with a chill-out touch. He goes deep the electronic music terrain.
The provisional title is Quicksilver.

In total 18 tracks in two Cds. Chill out mood for the first, techno for the second. The compositions have been created with his new virtual software in his studio, and the melodies are based on different guitars and piano.

It will be published by Mercury Records (Universal Music)

i also wonder... is that a date or what ?

Thank you both for the link and the translation!

I wonder if the "techno" expression is only a vague translation of Mike's word "up-tempo" or do they know more than those news on Mike's homepage besides the assumed release date...

I don't care, it all sounds excellent to me, can't wait, only 10 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But in OZ I'll have to add another 4 weeks to that most likely. :(

I am SO looking forward to the new release that I am becoming difficult to live with. If it is likely to be releasesd at the end of September, there will probably be the usual promotional lead up to this sometime beforehand. I will be away early September so might miss some of this.  :/  and it's bothering me! :/  Do you think, if there are to be interviews, that Radio 2 (in the UK) would be chosen? And who else? Are there any clues anywhere? Where else can I look? Can I wait that long, it's still weeks away? :O

Oops and Mike asked us about the title... Since nobody answered him ("whadayathink?" he asked, but left no phone number or e-mail address for an answer), he thought he'd better be out doing some gardening.

So no album this year I'm afraid.  :D
