Hi folks,

I take here the liberty to talk you about another guy's music, a long time Oldfield fan member of the French fans Tubular Mailing List, JPweb aka Korama aka Qurtis.

He just released a self played and produced album called Les Larmes de Sirius which is freely downloadable on his website (French site, download link) and also can be listened on free musical platform Jamendo (French only too, it seems).

I think this album has definitely a place in this section of the forum, due to its high level of quality (I really love it : isn't this a proof ? ;) ), the mix of few (very good) songs (French sung, I can translate if you ask me to) and long instrumental pieces, its obvious link and inspiration to Mike's music, but not only ; to quote (and translate) a few words from the author written to our MO mailing list : "Why do I mention it here ? Because this album is influenced by musics that do touch you : Jarre, Vangelis, Morricone, Roubaix, and of course Mike..."

I hope you will like it as much as I do and let you the pleasure of the discovery. I will be happy to read and answer your comments here. It's been a long time I don't come here (first post in 2002) but I'm never far away :)

I will finally mention the first album of Qurtis named Quiet, also downloadable on the site, in a very different style (more "electro-pop") but also highly interesting.

Cheers!
