How do you think the rehearsals for the Night of the Prom are going for everyone? It's getting nearer and surely the musicians all have to meet up occasionally. Hope it's all OK, and really wish I could go to the concert. It's sure to be amazing.

What about the musicians who are going to play with Mike?

I've read a rumor that Mike's band can be the very same band from John Miles, sounds very strange to me,since we all know Mike's requirements for a musician to be part of his live band  ;)

Er, no, I don't. Could someone let me know though, please, because I am rather good on the triangle (same shape nearly as a tubular bell) and I could be available at the drop of a hat! :)

I'm sure that's a comfort to Mike!!

He's less stressful now as he already found the triangle player!  :p

After having discussed the proposed program with conductor Franck van der Heijden and studio engineer Richard Barry and working on the arrangements, Mikes stage equipment was shipped to Antwerp, Belgium for the rehearsals which will take part in November.

Just 2 months to go to see Mike live in Frankfurt...fingers really crossed in here, the final details regarding my trip to Europe will happen this week  :)

Regarding Miriam,I'm expecting to hear Moonlight Shadow as one of the 2 tunes she's going to sing with Mike...

To be a player on Mike's band, you should be THE BEST OF THE BEST according to Mike's quality control

actually we are in the middle of rehearals with Mike, as I typ this : yes, he will perform with our entourage (orchestra, choir and the electric band)

Hummm...the Electric Band from John Miles is going to play with Mike...sounds interesting....I do hope that Mike and John Miles can be friends,so we can later hear him singing on a future Mike's album feat. vocals...John Miles' work with Alan Parsons Project is just AB FAB \o/

What would happen if all Mikes band was suddenly struck down with a "mystery" virus after a dodgy curry during the rehearsals? I think all registered users of tubularnet should announce their musical skills so that we are there in readiness in case Mike needs to call us?
I for one play a mean barrel organ - my only problem is that as I get towards the end of my 15 min solo I tend to get really excited and start to throw it about aka Pete Townsend!
But anyway Mike - If you need me I'm here.
So thats 2 of us - me and bee on triangle, good start, but maybe we need some back up?
Who else wishes to stand up and be counted?
Keep your tongues out.  :p

Hey, I am from Antwerp.

Are you saying that the rehearsels will take place in Antwerp ? :O
And would Mike be present there ?

He certainly is not playing here in Antwerp. And believe, I checked immediatly when I heared that Mike was performing the NOTP in Germany.

The reason Mike is in Antuwerp is the fact that the NOTP season has just started there and he needs the orchestra, the choir and John Miles' Electric Band to rehearsal for the german leg of NOTP  ;)

Can you imagen ?

I'm living less than 5 km away from the place where Mike is rehearsing something he is going to perform in another country  :(

And my company is situated less than 2 km from that place. I could walk over there during my lunch time just to say hello !  :p

I think you should all start a petition which orders Mike to perform at the same place where the rehearsels take place.  :D

I just spotted this, are you really that close? Wow! Have you seen anything interesting? Imagine, just walking down the street and noticing a familiar figure walking towards you. Would you recognise Mike if you were not expecting to see him? I wonder. Could you have walked past him in a crowd?

Hope the rehearsals are going well for all concerned and that you lucky people with tickets are looking forward to the concerts. Not that long to wait now.

You´re so damn right. Just listen to his voice on A Cask Of Amontillado on Tales Of Mystery And Imagination - Edgar Allan Poe.

But now back to the rehearsals.

They actually took place on Saturday, October 28th in Antwerp. Firstly Band with Mike, then Orchestra only and finally Band, Orchestra and Mike. The music was said to be 'heavenly'.

Further details aren´t known for I wasn´t there. But I think we can expect something very special.
