Well, today I bought the Roland SH-2000 (the synthesizer Mike used for Blue Peter, Incantations, Platinum etc.). I couldn't get the famous flute sound out of it yet. Have to play with the settings and presets first. :)

I will get back to this. (I also bought an Eminent 310 Unique: the famous one Jarre used).

I believe you'll find that the flute sound has much to do with what Mike did with it afterwards...

Good luck!

Yeah, I know Korgscrew. But I saw Tim Cross on a video with the Roland SH-2000 playing the flute sound live!

Booster--> I wasn't expensive. A microkorg is more expensive. :)

Well, your in luck! A got an email today from a guy (also in the Netherlands) who also had one. I said I already had one. He told me if I knew somebody who also wanted a Sh2000.

So, still interested? :D

Darn!!! The SH-2000 I bought has some errors!! I visited the other guy who also had an SH-2000 and this one sounded the exact same way as Mike's. :(

So I now have two Roland Sh-2000's at home.  :p

Don't what I'm going to do. I'll try to get my money back, or maybe repair, or just keep it for spare parts.

I is for.... *cough*... IT's for sale ;)

In Holland that's what they call VETTE PECH.

You should have tried it out before, but you already know that, I guess..... ;)

You made me curious, Richard. As I, as well as Blue Dolphin, thought that sound was a preset, what did Mike do with it afterwards? :-)

Recording at half speed, then EQ, reverb and delay...but when I said that, I didn't realise quite how different Blue Dolphin's SH 2000 sounded.

Ugo, I already knew that Mike did that stuff with the sound. ;)

And yes, it sounded quite different. But my new one sounds the exact same way as Mike's! :)

Jael--> that's an old word. ;) I call it KLOTE. I did try it out before I bought it, I didn't realise it sounded so different, also because I never played the synth before.

Now I'm totally pissed! I was playing on my second SH-2000 today, and suddenly I heard some electric noise and now my second SH-2000 sounds excately like my first one, with noises and totally different and uncorrect sounds.  :(

So now I've got two defect Roland SH-2000's. Maybe both of them have old oscillators, or maybe the contacts contain a lot of dust. Guess I have to take it to a repairman. I've opened one of the synthesizer to look into the electronics, but I don't have any technical knowledge I quickly closed the synth.

By the way, the jacks I used made a lot of noise when I connected them to my synth and into my organ (my organ has an input jack, so I can amplify the sound on the organ speakers).

I did, however, record the synthesizer last week, with the famous flute sound. I will post that soon here. For now, I have to find somebody to repair this.
