Hello everyone,i have been away from the forum for a while, because on Thusday 22nd May my wife's grandad shot himself at home in Ontario Canada,i had to give this bad news to my wife after she came home from work, after just been given the news by her mum on the phone, she was very very upset, she was screaming for a while, and crying a lot too,she moved to be with me in England from Canada in February 2002,and was very close to her grandparents,so,we both took a week unpaid from work and flew out to Canada the next day,it was a very sad time at the wake and funeral.
So,i only got the new Tubular Bells album this morning, and have listened to it several times,i think it's amazing, the music is really brought to life,Mike's guitar playing is wonderful as ever,i just really love it,but i tend to praise Mike's album's a lot more than looking or listening for error's or mistakes etc,i just love the music, but i have to say the D.V.D was a real missed oppitunity really, there is so much space on a D.V.D and hardly any of it was used, what would have been nice, instead of having static pictures while playing the 5.1 mixes would be seeing Mike playing the instruments like in the In dulci Jubilo video.

You must consider this community to be real friends, otherwise you wouldn't have been so open to us. I hope we really can support you. And, yes, music can be a comfort.
My condolences, and I wish you and your wife a lot of strength.

Very sorry to hear that.

I hope that the album gives a pleasant space to escape into - I think we all need that sometimes.

Yes, sorry to hear that sad news. May you find  place of peace and rest (the new TB2003 is a good one).

We've also been thrugh a tough time - our latest child, Matthew, was just born (last Wednesday) with Analrectum Misfunction (basically no anal opening). Thankfully his condition was not too serious (relatively speaking) and the doctor persormed one simple operation which was sucessful.

It's at time like these we need some REAL music for our souls.

Thanks Mike for giving us some of that

My sympathies. What a tragedy. I sincerely hope you guys get through it ok.

Regarding the DVD idea of Mike playing instruments, that would be cool to see. After a few years of not having seen him really perform much at all. That would have been quite interesting indeed. Oh well.
