Now then, I was listening to the fascinating tracks from the Conet project's SW radio recordings which at times are sinister and haunting. One track, Gong Station Chimes bear a striking resemblance to the weird chimes near the end of Woodhenge. I wonder if Mike got the idea from this ? It sounds the same from 0:27

I'm not sure if numbers stations were very widely known in the UK in the 70's; the growing interest on them started in the 90's, when people shared their findings on the Internet and started building a database of findings. In fact, listening to numbers stations was illegal in the UK, so I'm not sure if Mike would get involved with that stuff. But who knows?

Number stations are fascinating.  Steven Wilson (of Porcupine Tree) famously included a recording of one on PT's track "Even Less".  I've used them in my own music, too.

Well, honestly, considering the poor quality of the reception on the video, I find it impossible to tell if they are, indeed, the same notes. It doesn't really sound like that to me.

Numbers stations only really became a "thing" in the 90's or so, and since then many, many artists have used those sounds; Wilco, Boards of Canada and Stereolab to mention a few.

To my ears they are exactly the same notes.
