There were several concerts in the 80s where Mike wore a T-shirt with diamonds shaping a sheet music on it. I think about this one.

Does anyone know which music has this sheet? Is it the sheet music of an Oldfield piece?

I've heard about the beginning of Tubular Bells on it.

As I can see, the first two rows are surely not the default piano riff of TB.

No, not TB. Could it be some classical piece, perhaps? I can't recognise it.

It may just be a random assembling of stuff just to make it look nice. Who told you that the lines all belong to the same piece? :)

Joking aside, maybe Sir M. above here is right - classical. The second line looks a lot like Bach to me. ;)

There are some lyrics on there too by the looks of it. Unfortunately, that picture is just a tiny bit too unclear to make either the music or the lyrics readable.

It looks like a double (piano?) stave, plus something else.

I have a feeling that I've read somewhere or other what it's meant to be...maybe in Dark Star? Perhaps that was just something saying it was Tubular Bells - it certainly doesn't look like that.

The three line lyrics look a lot like moonlght shadow, or as close as I can see using the elements music book.

It would be VERY surprising if it turned out that Mike had written Moonlight Shadow already in 1980. ;)

Anyway, I'm sure that there is "Let" word in the 3rd line.

why

Because it was released in 1983 as the climax of Mike's ability of writing songs that had developed eventually since he had got into this area in 1979. It was probably written in 1982 but not on any account two years earlier without releasing it.

This t-shirt can be seen for a number of years, from the platinum tour onwards. I wonder what washing powder he used, because it certainly lasted him a long time without fading.

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?
