The Metro today (Tuesday 8th April 2008) has a short article on Mike mostly referring to the 5 minute interview recently in the Independent. Absolutely superb reporting, concluding that you can buy Mikes "8th album" Music of the Spheres. While some of us here might discount some of Mikes works forgetting to mention 16 (if I've counted right) of his albums seems a bit much!

You can find the article at this link.

I count about 22 studio albums, eliminating live and compilations albums.

I got my 24 as follows:

TB
HR
Ommadawn
Incantations
Platinum
QE2
FMO
Crises
Discovery
The Killing Fields (potential one not to count? )
Islands
Earth Moving
Amarok
Heaven's Open
TBII
TSODE
Voyager
TBIII
Guitars
TMB
Tres Lunas
TB2003 (another one that might not count)
L+S
and 24th - MOTS

I agree it depends what you count!

That's the count my freind. I was at work earlier, counting on my fingers the albums thru the decades from memory. Killing Fields MUST be included. I may not have liked it, but it was new original material. TB2003......hmmm......Do a poll on that. My vote would be no. It was a remake, not original new material as with TB2 and TB3. Really, do a poll on that thang....let's let the experts vote! Either way, MO has more than 8 friggin' albums and a very hefty resume of 20+ albums.

It`s not even 8 since he left Virgin.Counting on fingers here I`m pretty sure it`s that number that comes after 8,and just before my pinkee.(unless you count that 2003 thing then and all the compilations. In which case I`ll have to take my shoes off)
