Science-Fiction author Tony Wright and I are working on a musical project, based on one of his novels.  The album will be released under the name "Steamprog" - with Tony credited as both lyricist and scriptwriter.

To hear "Work in Progress" versions of the tracks as they are completed (without Tony's narration), go to:

Steamprog HQ

We expect to have the album finished by the end of the year!  :D

Listened to 'Nautilus' so far - really enjoyed it. Kind of trundles along keeping me mesmerised.

Cheers,
Terry.

Thanks, Terry.  You have to imagine all of this music with narration on top.  I suppose you've guessed what book we're setting to music?  We can't use the name "T*e W*r *f t*e W*rlds" - thanks to comments from Sony & Mr Wayne...  So the album is going under the working title "Aftermath: The Second Martian War".

42 minutes of music complete!!!

Have a listen...

Here!

Looks like "Aftermath: The Second Martian War" will clock in at about 65 minutes - my longest ever album!

Finished all of the music for "Aftermath: The Second Martian War".  We're just awaiting Tony Wright's narration now...

"The Battle of Brighton" & "Epilogue"

The album will be released on 12 August 2012.

Si.  :D

The whole, cross-faded album is now on SoundCloud.  Tony is hard at work writing and recording his narration.

Have a listen to everything so far...

Here!!!

Thanks Guys,
Si

PS: Thanks for the lovely comments, Tubular Tos!!!

I've listened to the first 15 minutes but had to go and make my dinner... I'll be back to listen to more, because so far it's pretty awesome. Really enjoying it - although I am tempted to wait until the narration is recorded.

What's the timescale for that?

Cheers,
Terry.

Well, Terry - that's the thing.  The author of "War of the Worlds: Aftermath", Tony Wright, is having trouble fitting the recording into his hectic schedule.  He reckons he can have it done by JULY?! - WTF?!  :O   It's a bit frustrating, really - but as this is a joint project, and he's the author... guess I'll just have to wait.

Or kick him up the bum.
