I've a question that has been bugging me for some time. I understand there's some fans of the band Sky who post on Tubular Board.  I believe that Sky had a UK hit single, must be between 1977-80 , I'm wondering if anyone knows what it was called and what chart position it reached.  I have the Sky 2 album, bought recently for £0.69, in a charity shop, a bargain    :) , I guess this track must be off the "Sky" album.   I think at the time it came out I was too young to really appreciate music, and spent my time bouncing around on my Spacehopper
Any help greatly appriciated, many thanks  :) .

Tocatta & Fugue..played everywhere when it came out, not sure what number it reached but must have ben Top 10. And yes, it is from the first album also on Sky 5 Live.

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?

Can anyone remind me of the name of the tracks listed on "Masterpeices" (perhaps I've not remembered the title correctly). Failing that, what would be good to listen to from them ? :)

Thanks for answering  my question Olrac :) . Toccata and Fugue, I knew the tune, but had no idea what it was called.

Tansy the shop was my local Age Concern Shop, I did find a second copy of Sky 2, shortly after finding mine, I'll look out for it for you.

Tansy, if you type 'masterworks ktel' into Google, you will find a couple of people (I really do mean only a couple) selling a copy of it. You might try scouring the charity shops for a copy, but you will only find it on vinyl as it was never released on CD. However, if you go to this page, you will see that Ktel have a new scheme whereby you can choose tracks to make a custom CD, and as you will see, all the tracks from Masterworks are there. I don't know how much it costs, but if it's reasonable enough I might buy a copy myself, because I always loved that album.

In the mean time, if anyone has it in MP3 format, please get in touch.

Thanks for taking the time to assist me in yet another quest to go down "memory lane" TanGram.I've saved the website & will definately be ordering at some stage soon. :) Now moonchildhippy won't have to endure a marathon stint looking in charity shops on my behalf(but,a genuinely sweet & thoughtful gesture all the same) :)

In case someone looking for releases from 'Sky' doesn't know: most (all?) of their back catalogue is available on CD; check e.g. Amazon UK (you will find most on the first pages).

'Toccata' was a single off 'Sky 2', and 'Masterpieces' is the name of the compilation album.

There's a website for them! See below!
