Well folks,

Please have a gander at some of my original work at:

www.angelfire.com/ca/RedTide/music.html

I'm working on more material now, with a couple of "songs" in the normal sense (with singing), but I'm not as experienced with writing that sort of thing.

At least a couple of you might have heard one or more of these, but "Farewell March" has been updated since then. I'm still not much of a piano player, but it's something I'm working on. Actually, while we're at it... I'm saving money for a new keyboard, but how would I make the piano sound I do have now sound better??? It's really kind of painful to my ears...

There's a kind of psychadelic-folk feel to Farewell March. I like that a lot - it's one of those tracks where the not-so-sparkly-clean sound quality adds character (much like Tubular Bells). Very nice - I think it's my favourite of the three.

I don't really think there's much you can do to your piano sound which you haven't done already - it sounds acceptable like it is, and somehow I suspect that there's not much you can do to make it better (that's if 'better' means more realistic...you could probably mangle it through all sorts of things to make interesting sounds which you may find better...).

Korgscrew,

thanks for the feedback. i'd still like to clean up the tracks a bit though, because just about everything here was mic'd, except the drums (which were programmed, though rather simply), and my microphone isn't of the highest quality, far from it, actually, since it's a $10 computer mic.

And as for the piano... yeah, I'd love for it to sound a bit more realistic. I'm not a pianist by any means, but I guess I was just spoiled by the over-abundance of real pianos while I was at University...

Anyone else have anything to say?? :-)

Nice tracks, I like your style. But rhythm still seems to be the main problem.
