Cycling home in the dark the other evening I was listening to the Millennium Bell and I got very strong images coming to my mind...something about the movement through the dark and the physicality of the music made me think that this album ( and possibly others ) has so much potential to be on stage. A show...something along the Cirque du Soleil line...I have never seen one of their shows myself but have heard good reviews and it seems to be a success all over the world. We know in this album each track has a theme & the very idea itself to commemorate what has happened over the last 1000 years to mankind would make a very memorable show I think. That along with good strong melodies and ever changing rhythms could make for something out of this world ( perhaps that one would be more apt for Songs of Distant Earth ). The sets could be fantastic, the lighting too, the costume designers could let their imaginations run wild and free and with good sound production the whole thing would be one amazing experience. To see & hear The M B would be a dream come true.

I went to the The Millennium Dome show in London in 2000 and was just bowled over with what Peter Gabriel did and the story of Ovo. That had a kind of circus/acrobat/dance visual & it worked really well. The Dome was much derided because so much money was spent on the whole thing, fair point really, but I have taken that music away in my heart for ever, and I'm sure I wasn't alone there. So that's a good thing, right?

Perhaps now, ten years in to our new Millennium, would be a good time to think about something like this, the music is there, it lives and it's positivity deserves to be heard.

Milamber, you successfully staged an international awards ceremony from your own living(?!;)) room, you have inspired many to collaborate on a wonderful project with the Tubularnet Group so what are you doing after - ofcourse you have your new little one nearly here now, but in time...you never know !!??!!!

(only joking ;) )

Hi Bee.

Glad you've said that - because I get a strong sense of 'movement' in TMB. It also has an amateur dramatics feel about the story line - which I think would have GREAT potential on the stage. Funny that you were on a bike moving through the dark, because I get a sense of a man on horseback moving at speed through the music....
