The first 4 early Steve Hackett albums have been re-mastered and released with extra tracks - don't know whether or not there are any extra tracks with Sally (Oldfield), or not!

The first album, "Voyage of the Acolyte", is rather Oldfieldian. I thought the second one was 1/4 as good as this one. The third was 1/4 as good as the second one. Based on this, I did not bother with his fourth album.

I love "Voyage of the Acolyte" and "Please Don't Touch" both the same.  After that, they fall short.  Favorites are "Carry Up on the Vicarage" and "Narnia".

I guess that Sally (Oldfield) might be on the re-master, see below!

Track List
Voyage of the Acolyte

Ace Of Wands
Hands Of The Priestess Part 1
A Tower Struck Down
Hands Of The Priestess Part 2
The Hermit
Star Of Sirius
The Lovers
Shadow Of The Hierophant

Bonus Tracks:
Ace Of Wands (Live)
Shadow Of The The Hierophant (Extended playout version)

On Friday, there were articles about Kate Bush in The Mirror and The Independent! Her new album is a DOUBLE! Called 'Aerial'.

Funny how two of my favourite artists are releasing double albums within weeks of each other!

My favourite Steve Hackett albums are 'Voyage of the Acolyte' and 'Spectral Mornings'. Also, one of his latest, 'To Watch the Storms' is quite a return to form; not quite up there in the big league with 'Voyage' and 'Spectral', but mighty close.  ;)

Don't forget 'Guitar Noir' and I also love 'Bay Of Kings' which is the only one of his classical guitar albums I've got - so far! I keep on falling further and further behind! - I hope to catch up on the releases and re-releases soon!
