:(  Enough ! That's enough now ! When will you stop to relate Tubular Bells to hell , death , halloween and exorcism and other " bul... ? And now with trash music ? Please no !... Tubular Bells is Holy and inspired by the Good spirits ; don't touch it with your dirty hands ; especially since this shameful topic ( removed now , fortunately ! )about the presumed death of who you know !

Sorry Jameson ,but this was my anger of the day !

You cannot say that Tos... Evrybody find tubular bells or anything like thet in things they like and feel.. ITs the same as someone like pop rock and others metal.. Dark and bright side of the human soul reacts on the music on the diffrent ways..it just depends on your point of view.

Nice lightshow! Din't scare me though, but it was cosy for sure.

Regarding recent comments like that of Tubular Tos above, I just wonder if it's time for a follow-up to the "Is Mike Oldfield geek culture" thread; "Does your local church approve of Mike Oldfield?" or "Is Mike Oldfield christian culture?". There's always some remark, comment (or lightshow) that is too negative, blasphemous or satanic for some users, which I find a little odd.

The only thing I found scary about that was the terribly New Age Chill Out album version of Tubular Bells.

I don't find anything scary, hellish , deathly or evil about Tubular Bells,  yes it has dark moments in there, but the dark is linked to the light and each is a part of life.  I'm sure we've all a dark side, when I say that it doesn't neccesarily mean we've done something bad or wrong.  Halloween or the ancient Pagan festival of Samhain Prononced So'win) was a time for remebering ancestors, it's also a time when the land sleeps to be reawakened again in the spring. There's nothing hellish or evil about the festival of Halloween.

That video is really irritating.

Nothing really scary about Tubular bells, unless your first thought is "The exorcist"- Which wasnt scary to me anyway come to think of it.

So yes.. Poo version of TB. *Thumb down*

Help me, somebody! Mike Oldfield is threatening my agnosticism!

TRUST ME !!!!Tos i understand the amazing compositional, spiritual, and awe-inspiring impact and granduer of Oldfield music!!!
i just thought this band did a good cover for their type of music. as for the whole association with TB1 being  "satanic" i dont like, hell i even loathe the fact that TB1 was in the Exorcist and gave the song a scary rap, but ya know, its getting to be Halloween and i just thought the videos were funny and cool at the same time. so go ahead and vent just remember that i too love, no, wait, ill admit it , i truely worship MO, his music has touched me in more ways you could think of, i mean, his music and inspiration saved my life you could say.(long story, for another time). i just thought you should know that Tos before you started to make accusations.

I watched The Excorsist once, and it scared the crap outta me,but Tubular Bells, is an old friend from years ago. Yep TB is atmospheric whilst driving at night, but nowt scary about it   :D , Tubular Bells is only scary when it's some crappy New Age cover version  :O .

I find that very interesting. When I grew up I knew several kids from christian families (i.e. families actively going to church) who like Mike Oldfield's music. I don't see the connection myself, but maby it's because of the absence of typicall rock'n'roll subjects or themes.

I myself feels that al music is spiritual in one way or another. If it connects with me, then it's spiritual.

Well, that's the bad side of splitting up your compositions in small pieces. Mike should have thought about that before saying long tracks were "too 70's". :D

HA ha! quite funny actually, that thing on youtube. It's only a light hearted bit of fun. Not as if it's going to cause damage is it.

I do feel though, Tubular Bells is a more 'pretty' piece of music. sort of celtic undertones. Don't know why I think that though. Saw a copy ot Tubular Bells for £6 today actually, bit of a shame that price.
