1. You know you're a fanatic when you deliberately go into record stores and ask if MO has put out anything new...even when you know he hasn't. It gets them thinking about his stuff though.

2. You bribe staff at the record stores to play the latest MO album over their loudspeakers.

3. You ring up and write to all your local radio stations, asking them to play a track off MO's latest album.

* You actually listen to Earth Moving and Millennium Bell
* You try and 'convert' all you're friends
* You actually burn a 'best of' compilation (mine's five disks long smile)
* You push to make Moonlight Shadow the national anthem of whatever country you're in.
* You post silly stuff like this in forums wink

THats all

*You get the kids to sit and listen to Tubular Bells from the age of 2 years old

*You ask for 'The Time Has Come', 'Heaven's Open', 'From the Ashes' and 'Maya Gold' to be played at your funeral

*You programme the Tubular Bells opening theme into your new mobile without any script or download...

Actually mine was probably much worse because I had to refer to the Nokia instructions to work out which button applied to which note and also programmed in the sustain time for each note...

Now that is really sad eek

What about if you take about 30 mins to programme the Ommadawn opening theme into your Siemens referring totally to instructions given on Tubular.net?

Used 'Voyager' as background music when I committed my family's silent 8mm home movies to VHS. When I played it for my family at the reunion, a friend of my brother's asked me who did the music. When I told him, he said, "Yeah, isn't that guy also an Olympic weightlifter??". Yeah, sure, whatever...

LOL - Olympic weightlifter??

When it comes to guitarists, Mike is a super heavyweight. But weightlifting? Nah!

PS Kgsrw...plus D-U-M-B Bells, doesn't quite fit the same....haha!

Mike's good at 'weightless' lifting! - after the (dumb)Bell in Tubular (dumb)bells II. He certanly lifts up my spirit with his music!

Please....stop it..it's getting too corny......

I think we've gone past that level of corny jokes, Korgscrew, but not in this topic (yet).

Dumb bells sounds like something a critic might have described TMB/TBOTB/even TB3 in some cases, as, judging by some of the articles/reviews on Tubular.net and found elsewhere on the Internet.

Critics are people who know a very little about alot of things, have one thing they are truly passionate about and everyone thinks they are crazy for. I've heard some disparaging stuff in my day at Mike's expense. I just feel sorry for them, mostly. Dumb-bell? More like deaf-bell. (Or cloth-eared...)

* You write poems about Mike.

It takes a fanatic to bounce a 7+ years old thread on a Mike Oldfield message board without flinching!!  :D
