Haven't done it as yet, but was thinking that a CD with all 3 Taurus tracks in order would be interesting.  Has anyone done this, and if so, how do they sound together?

I hadn't thought to create a "Taurus" playlist before, but I have now.

What would interest me more, though, is a new album of themes from "Taurus"es I, II, and III, plus a "Taurus IV". Then Mike could sailors-hornpipe the end with a bullfight tune such as "España Cañí" (video clip). Well, I'd be happy.

When I created my giant MO playlist (that unfortunately was on my old computer so I don't have it anymore) I put all the Tauruses in order.  And they go.  They don't flow as such from track to track, like Voyager or TSODE or TBII do, but I do think they work one after the other.
But although I like the Taurus tracks, I'm not sure whether I'd like an albumsworth of them.

Well, I gave it a go, and as you note Ebony - it "goes".

However, I think I'm with SweetP as far as another Taurus goes.  At the moment, it is a little like an unfinished symphony, with Taurus 3 an unsatisfying coda to the 2nd movement.  How much better it would sound as the scherzo leading to the triumphant 4th movement.

So Mike, here is your muse, let the next album roll on: a 4-part Taurus epic

That's how I see it, too, TR. Though, I believe one could say that "Taurus 1" and "Taurus 2" are each mini symphonies in themselves.

My idea for a Taurus symphony...

1st movement (moderato):
a) mandolin tune ("Taurus 1" 0:00 - 1:12)
b) high lyrical passage ("Taurus 1" 3:35 - 5:27)
c) rockish themes ("Taurus 2" 0:00 - 5:00)

2nd movement (adagio):
a) 'Deep Deep Sound' ("Taurus 2" 8:30 - 10:00)
b) music box-y/Bagpipe-y section ("Taurus 2" 12:40 - 16:40)
c) 'Sana Rosana' theme ("Taurus 2" 16:45 - 20:00)

3rd movement (vivace):
a) vocoder section ("Taurus 1" 8:30 - 10:16)
b) "Taurus 3" theme
c) rockish section ("Taurus 2" 20:10 - 22:30)

4th movement:
- NEW COMPOSITION -

And top it all off with the aforementioned "España Cañí" (scherzando).

Really, I had nothing better to do. It was either this or reruns of 'Seinfeld'.

Cool idea. Now if you could include sections from Taurus 1 on Montreux you could reprise Deep Deep Sound with the instrumental version or vice versa.
This idea could run forever.Brilliant stuff.

I just love Taurus triology, and I'd love to see Mike in the future a comeback musically to it.

It would be fantastic to see him return to it.Another couple of Taurus pieces would always be welcome.Maybe now he's relocated to Spain he will look at it.He did seem to play Taurus 3 a lot.I have a TV-AM interview from around the time Islands came out in which he played a tune the comprised the TV-AM theme on Amarok and the flamenco type chordal part of Taurus 3.Also there's a bit on the Elements DVD where he's sat playing a lovely little nylon strung guitar and out pops taurus 3.There is hope!
The other thing we could do would be to put together a similar thing with TB.I do like the Best Of TB but felt it didn't really do it justice in certain sections and leaped past some sections that should be there. For example there is a lot of music before the caveman section on side 2.No time now as i'm on my lunch break at work but at some point i really must think about an ultimate TB.
