Quote | Richard Branson is the founder and chairman of Virgin Group, and the author of a new book, Like a Virgin: Secrets They Won’t Teach You at Business School. We asked him to talk about his favorite musical album:
“Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells. Call me biased, but it’s still one of the most influential records in modern music. To produce Tubular Bells, Mike played more than 20 instruments and made more than 2,300 recordings. I was surprised how expensive tubular bells were to buy. ‘£20 for tubular bells?’ I asked. ‘They’d better be worth it.’ I can’t fault a guy for being such a perfectionist. After all, it sold 17 million copies around the world.” |
