Hi everyone;
I guess this question is primarily for the US fans. I managed to purchase the TB2 Edinburgh DVD but can only view it on my computer monitor. Is there a US release available or a way to transfer it to a DVD that my machine can play? At this point in time I cannot afford to buy another DVD player (but I will if that's the only other resort ;0)
Thanks for any other suggestions.
Frank.

I had heard that there was going to be a US release of TBII / TBIII on a single DVD....but don't think it ever materialized.  What region is your TBII disc?

Hi Falc04;
I have been keeping an eye on a US release for some time now but have yet to find it. My disc is the European release (not sure about the region, sorry). It looks absolutely fantastic but really should be viewed on something other than a (rather small) monitor screen. I had hoped that, considering the kinds of things that can be done with CDR's, the same could apply to DVD's which is not to say that I condone the copying of official releases of anything... After all, I did pay the price of the DVD... This whole 'region' thing is unfortunate in that, except for the 'Elements' DVD (which also is restricted) the TB2 set is the only way I get to enjoy MO live.
I appreciate your reply and any suggestions you may have.

Frank.

Hi there!

You have two issues here.

1.- European release is region 2/3/4/5/6... that's all the world except the USA. There's a fair way to get a functional copy. First, download DVD Shrink and install it. AFAIK, you won't need to do nothing but click on Opne Disc, check the quality and region settings and press Backup. Repeat that with the TB3 side. Now you will have two DVDs region free... in PAL format.

2.- Yeah, that's the other thing. We in Europe use PAL format, with is different from the NTSC format used in the States. So you will need a TV set  that can show PAL video... Another option ius to convert the DVD from PAL to NTSC, but I actually don't know how to do it.

Well, my two cents... err... One cent, indeed.

I have the TB2/3 dvd, and was in the same situation. I had to run it through DVD Decrypter FIRST before running it through Shrink DVD.

Shrink DVD automatically took it from PAL to NTSC. I think there is a checkbox setting for this.

Not advocating piracy here: I had to do this in order to view my OWN purchased copy of this DVD.

Hi guys;
Thanks again for all the input. And, like Hiawatha, I also am not advocating the illegal copying of material. As I mentioned, I did purchase it and would do so again if a US version was available. Just as I will when (if ever) the 'Complete Mike Oldfield' DVD becomes available... Let's hope ;0)
Thanks again everyone.
All the best;
Frank.
