Which artist/group do you think is the complete opposite to Mike Oldfield? This may be musically, lyrically, structurally (i.e. people involved) or some other way. It would be interesting to see what possibilities there could be...and even more interesting (well, maybe not) if say a number of users are fans of this artist/group and Mike. -Tim- Who do I think? Because: Most modern composers avoid 'tonality' (the stuff about scales & chords, you know...) since they feel it's outdated. They still use the classical instruments, however (piano, violin, etc.) Mike uses normal (western) tonality. But he experiments a lot with sounds & instruments. But anyway he doesn´t sing Spanish music at all in the way Mike does play it -Flamenco, Spanish Guitar style...- So I reaaly think, for the commerciality and simplicity of Ricky Martin's stuff, and for the lack of real musical quality and meaning of lyrics...
