I just got The Complete Tubular Bells. It has TB2003, TBII, TBIII, and the TBDVD. However, the booklet is disappointing. All it states is the track listings, the track lengths, and who produced and engineered each song. I was hoping for maybe something like musician listing. They do list who's singing what on TBIII, but that's about it.

Will someone who has TBII and TBIII tell me:

Are they worth getting seperate? (i.e. Do they have pictures or liner notes in the booklets?)

You tend to get very little extra info with Mike's releases. Very little effort is put into his presentation generaly if you ask me and when there is effort put in for re-releases they more often than not get things inexcusably wrong. TB2 and 3 don't have any other info other than who was involved in their production, musicians, producers, engineers etc.

Tubular Bells 2 and 3 do both have some pictures in the booklets, and of course the musician/production credits (and instrument listing, in the case of Tubular Bells 2) which Toby already mentioned...whether they're worth buying just for that is of course up to you to decide.

Tubular Bells 2003 has quite a comprehensive listing of all the instruments which Mike used, though not as comprehensive as the notes with the DVD-A (which are very detailed, but only really of interest if you happen to be into music recording in one way or another).

I do have to say, the Complete Tubular Bells set seemed like a rather half hearted effort to me, with even the artwork not being as exciting as it could have been. Sadly, that's what we've come to expect...

I recieved The Complete Tubular Bells as a present  ;).  I've seen CTB retail at between £22.99 and £29.99.  A few years ago my husband bought ZZ Top's then new album "XXX" for £15.99, with just a four page booklet  :( . I'm assuming that CTB cost between £23-£30, then comparing it to XXX ,3 CD's and a DVD for that price is excellent value for money
:) .  CTB could have been improved by a booklet explaining how the TB albums were made, and also by crediting the other musicians, and some notes on them.
