Hi,

I downloaded the tracks and listened to them in the car - unfortunately I had my youngest son talking at me (about football) while trying to listen so I'll need to give proper feedback when I've given it my full attention.

However, the production is really good, I like the guitar in the second track for sure, and the choral samples sound really good too. I'm not too fond of the spoken word samples (the first one is Neo from The Matrix...?) but they may fit better when I listen properly.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,
Terry.

I was listening to that charles manson clip on youtube a couple of days ago! spooky coincidence?  :p
The album covers many styles, how would you categorize it yourself?
The last track has a very inspired title!
And I can't help but wondering what you mean by the golden age of psychiatry?

Streamed a few of the tracks on soundcloud. This is quite good! Nice neo-psychedelic feel. I do agree with Ginger Daddy, the spoken samples aren't really my cup of tea, but that's just aesthetics.

Who's the chick? :D

Nice.  Reminds me a bit of Bass Communion/No-Man.  Some of the samples seem a bit superfluous, though.

Thanks everyone for the comments

Terry ,the first sample is actually a soundbite from an alien race known as the plaiedians..........don't ask!!!!!!

Lars T ,The whole album was kickstarted by that Manson speech,it got me thinking about the way people can manipulate others by the power of thought. Also the title of the album is kinda sarcastic.......as psychiatry in the past consisted of electric shock treatment and lobotomy.
the final "prairee school freakout scene" has been around since the late '70's ,finally its got a sound to go with title.

Syd b,  thanks for listening.........maybe i could have cut back a little on the samples in hindsight.......but i think they add atmosphere.

simon, Thanks mate for the comparisons........don't forget our "planned" collaboration later in the year !

Definitely, dude!  Love the 'grooves' you're using.  The music I'm working on now (Steamprog - HG Wells's The War In The Air) will be very groove-based.

Cheers Simon........grooves are "tricky" for me,i seem to spend(waste) too much valuable time on them.
Being a builder by trade i seem to have a bit more time on my hands this time of year !
I look forward to hearing "the war in the air"
I did a track based on "shape of things to come" last year.
HG WELLS seems to fit your steamprog project perfectly.
