I've mentioned elsewhere that I reckon Patrick Moore (english eccentric astronomer and presenter of the longest running show on British TV, 'The Sky at Night') would be quite well suited...but, of course, I've been practising my Viv Stanshall impressions specially, so we won't be needing him wink

Well, my choices (warning: British culture references ahead)...
  • Jesse from The Fast Show: "This week, I 'ave been mostly playin'... glockenspiel."
  • Hugh Grant: "Well, er, there are two guitars... and, ah, they seem to be, um, a bit, er, well, distorted actually."
  • Murray Walker: "Well, it's a Spanish guitar... but what's this? Yes, I do Be-Lieve We Are In-Tro-Ducing... An A-Cou-Stic Gui-Tar!!!"
  • Loyd Grossman: "Plus, tyoobyoolarr behhlls... in a rahspberry coulis."

Talking about good ideas.

My sincere apologies.

Now everyone knows I never made it to the end of The Division Bell...

I think i'd rather hear Mike himself, than someone else. although John Cleese's voice is rather distinct and interesting.

Funniest voice to hear: Ben Stein. Tubular? Tubular? Tubular? Bells? Bells? Bells? Anyone? Anyone?

Well, if he was still alive I wish for Orson Welles, but, well...
And why not an actress such as Linda Hunt for instance ?

If we're talking actresses...Joanna Lumley.

Would be very seductive....

I was actually just going to say that maybe Mike would use a female voice, seeing how he has done exclusively on TB3, TMB and now Tres Lunas - maybe he'll use his daughter again (is her name Greta?). I know that it annoyed some people but I thought that her voice was very effective on TB3...but then again I think Cleese would be a very good choice - or Animal from Muppets?

Tuuuubulaaarrr Belllls! Woooo-maaaan!!!

I like the idea of John Cleese, but if not him,why a different voice for each instrument, that would be fun for Mike,if not that, then how about,1 male and 1 female voice, doing alternate instruments.

It's a good idea, but MO just intend to remake TB as he want it, back in 1973, but was not able at this moment. This is not going to be a TB4 ! (I think)

Well,he can't just call it a re-make,because the original MC is dead.
But what interest's me more,is what is the album going to be called,i mean he can't call it Tubular Bells!!can he?,and he can't really call it Tubular Bells 4 either,so,what do people think he could call it.?

I suppose that 'Tubular Bells 30' would be the obvious one. He could go for 'Tubular bells 2003' or even 'Tubular Bells revisited'...or something completely different (as Mr Cleese might say).

Seeing as Mike's a Star Trek fan, he could go for 'Tubular Bells: the next generation'.

Mike did say in an interview that he liked the idea of Margaret Thatcher as MC, so you never know.

Please, not Thatcher!!!!!  ;)

I like the idea of Patrick Stewart, and I also think that Steven Hawing would sound cool, but a bit silly.

If we wanted to get really silly, we could use Rowan Atkinson's Mr. Bean voice (If you can call it a voice!;)
