I'd like to know, because they are a very nice band too.
I used to be very obsessed with the bass guitarist

Why is it that everyone always goes for the bass guitarist? Not saying that they aren't nice or anything, but it happens with frightening frequency.  :D

Everyone's interpretation is different, and everyone has a right to that opinion. There is no "right" one, I am adding this post to communicate my thoughts to share them with like-minded souls who will be able to comment in good nature.

Yup, know the band (not personally, of course). My mum's a big fan of Ray Thomas. I like some of their stuff, particularly "Nights in White Satin", cos that's a lovely song.

I also think that "Days of Future Passed" is a very interesting concept album, from the beginning to the end of the day.

Glad to know you like them.

I'm a sucker for "To Our Children's Children's Children". To me, that album sounds like some of the greatest tunes in the world attracted each other like magnets and stuck to each other forming an album. It's unbelievable.

I've been listening to them since i was .....er..small, in the early 70's I believe ( cough...cough)

Brilliant.  they introduced the melotron to popular music - this was the pre-curser to the synthesiser, every time you played a key a little tape started playing ( although it wasnt little) - there was one tape reel for each key I believe.

My favorite track : - it the one where "a mole came up blinking underneath an owl who's thinking how he came to be sat on a hill"

I was into this until I hear tubular bells - then I started playing that over and over and over again for 37 years.

Hee Hee Memories

I LOVE that band. Saw them live last week, for 3rd time.

Btw: that song you mean RAY, is called Nice To Be Here,

it's from my favourite MoodyBLues lp called EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FAVOUR!!!

Amazing stuff, also I love To our childrens childrens children. And Days of Future Passed is magic too.

Of course they also made some weak/lousy stuff, and made some bad decisions, but that can be forgiven in a 40 year career!

Great band!

Oh, btw: even better are the 2 solo albums of the drummer, 'The Graeme Edge Band':

- Kick off your muddy boots
- Paradise ballroom

No problem of course. As we both have the same feelings about the Moody Blues  :)

I think my fav Moody Blues song is possibly "Lazy Day". I bought the Album "On the Threshold of a Dream" for Mother's Day. That's such an interesting song, and the backing vocals are simply unforgettable.
