The Quiet Lake: http://www.lyricless.com/file_view?id=55

Here's another new track from me.  I originally wrote this back in 1999/2000, and have spent a few nights updating and completing it.

I'd love to know what you think of this, even if it's just "I like it".  Any feedback is useful.  Thanks for listening!

Nice melody. I like it. But againg it sounds too electronic for me.

You know, it really sounds like those 80s synths by Yamaha with FM synthesis. Nice retro feeling ;)

Way too simplistic, and not enough "travel" in the melody to take it with me. I felt I wasn't going anywhere. Almost the sense of a "noodle" on a sunday evening, a melody finding it's way out.

Much better work has come from you since 2000, so I'm guessing this is a flashback.

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?

thank you both for the feedback. :)

Based on what I've heard so far, I may develop this piece further.  There's no reason why it has to stay as it is now.  But we shall see! ;)

Apart from the ending, which sounds a bit too sudden and may need some (further?) revision, IMHO it's great. Shame that this board features a "thumb up" icon as a post marker but not as a smiley. :) However, I think this one works fine for this piece:

thanks Ugo. :)  It is always interesting to have different opinions.  The ending does need work.  I think I could improve the piece without spoiling what's already there... so will most likely keep you all informed of the latest version when it's available.
