here it goes to download :)

hmm in my topic what should I do? jammer told me to remix something from TBIII, I quite like the idea and will hopefully do a real remix later, but now I wanted to show off possibilities of my new synth :) most of the song is done with it, except drums and guitar...enjoy! ;)

Well done! You're sounding a lot more professional since the first time I heard one of your Reason covers. This could be down to your mastering software, or the soft synth itself

Are you playing a real guitar, or is this done through MIDI? Due to the synthy nature of the Roland VG-8 used (?) this could be played accurately on a synth and not sound too different if you have the right sound. When I have time I'm going to try to see if I can recreate this sound, as Mike uses it very often throughout his Warner albums

Just a few points to make if I can - the initial piano figure is in a different key to the rest of the parts. Don't know if this is intentional, but the original version is at a fourth up from what yours is. Also, the glockenspiel part could have been a bit more resonant

All in all, it's a good mix. If you did that five or six years ago, you might have got a place on one of Mike's singles!

ow? mate you really think it's good? I thought it's not really...cuz it's done in just about 3-5 hours including playing and mastering...

actually I thought of it more as the novation demo than a "real cover" but hey what's a real cover? :D

about the guitar...I am gonna keep it my secret :)

That's pretty crazy there, booster! You definitely keep improving. The only problem I have is some of the instruments seem like the they're playing the TB theme on a different scale or something, but I suppose it's ok it gives a unique feel....but the only problem with THAT is that they sound out of tune, too :(. That's my only nit-pick. Otherwise, that's pretty awesome, dude! I love the flute sound in there doing stuff. And the guitar isn't have bad there, either!

I tried to download here, at work, but it went too slow. I'll try to check it out at home, this weekend.

Just listened to it. Hey, if you did that in 3-5 hours, I wonder what you could do if you took more time! :D Judging by those sounds, you could make something really crazy and exciting there. It sounds very fresh and original, even, and that's coming from someone who strongly dislikes "The Source Of Secrets". Perhaps the piece didn't need to go up to a full 5 minutes, and yes, the main line is played in a wrong key (E minor, if my mind does not fail me, while the rest of the song is A minor). But still, that's a great showcase. I really liked it. It's very good to listen to the song without having to cope with Amar's whinings, and the cue of "Far Above The Clouds" at the end worked well. Great ending, too! Faintly reminds me of the slowing down at ELP's "Knife Edge". Man, you almost have a psychedelic masterpiece in there! :D No, really!

Plus, thank you again for your "something"! ;)
