Whipped this together tonight. Was playing around on guitar with the chords to FATC and came up with this idea. At first it was going to be a cool funky upbeat and get-you-going tune, but it turned into this. It's a little different than the stuff I've turned out here before, but I hope you all like it anyway!

This time around I used FL Studio. A lot. And I only recorded 2 guitars. I'll also be the first to admit that it is a tad on the short and/or repetative side. I might fix it up later. At least now I have an actual title! ;)

A new piece by Brandon Blume! The day was suddenly brighter! I clicked on the link, started the download... then realised it was one of those .ogg things that I can't play. In went the sun; back came the clouds.....

Sigh.

This is quite nice. I love the clean delayed guitar sound. I only hope MO's use of FL Studio will be this good ;-)

Did you hear the cheering, thousands of miles away?

Thanks Brandon. While I've been listening to it, I've been browsing among my Maestro images for a suitable illustration, and here it is:

There's only one thing I'd like to ask you: are you really a guy named Brandon Blume? I'm beginning to suspect that you're Mike Oldfield in disguise. :D

Joking aside: congrats, Brandon. You are a genius.

Thank you, everybody. Glad it's been so well accepted :). Where's Booster with his comments, though! This is his field of music genre ;).

I never even thought about that Maestro pic. THAT'S genius! ;)

Wow, this is really good. I don't find it repetitive at all. Actually, it wouldn't seem out of place to me on Moby's soon to be released album (less than a month, I can't wait!! ). Top quality stuff.

Excellent stuff. Wondered if you've been writing much music lately. This time the Oldfield influences are less noticeable and that's a good thing!

Hearing it, I imagine a longer upbeat trance remix of it would be effective, but this works fine as an original version

Edoardo, I only await your word! :) Contact me anytime. Maybe we can throw around some tunes to eachother and create something. Or I'll even help you with a song of yours or vice versa. There are a lot of possibilities!

I HAVE to hear that track!! Probably my two favourite musicians here since I started listening to the fan tracks again (which was only a couple of days ago). I'm sure any compilation you do will sound phenomenal.

Thanks for this but.... I read what it says there (almost all of which I don't understand)... and I read the alarming number of 'known issues' (which I don't understand either), and I'm left thinking that if I install this and it goes wrong, I could be left with a player that doesn't work at all, and nowhere to turn to for a fix.

So thanks, but... no thanks.

I still say everyone's better off with Winamp as their primary player. It plays everything you can think of including video files and is highly recommended and used by at LEAST 80% of people who own personal computers.

I did try Winamp once - maybe a year ago. And it did all sorts of weird things that didn't seem right to me - so I uninstalled it. Winamp presumably took offence at this and fixed things so that long, long after it had gone, all kinds of files kept telling me that I couldn't open them because I didn't have Winamp. Took me weeks to sort out the mess.

So I do freely admit to the world that I have a pathological hatred for Winamp.

I have no idea why someone would have any hatred towards Winamp, unless you used a very, very old version a long, long time ago and didn't try the newest ones. I can leave Winamp opened all day playing on random, do all sorts of stuff with my computer, and it won't bother me at all. It keeps on playing perfectly fine. And it plays virtually every kind of file. I'd say that if you can't play OGG, you're on a big loss. :)

As for the song, not bad. Crescendo of loops, chord sequence... For some reason, the entwined-guitar sound reminds me of The Cure.

But Sir M (puzzlement spreading across my face), I explained both the why, and the when, in my post.....

Many people successfully digest and enjoy oysters; but you only need one bad experience with one to put you off for good. And the loss, of course, is mine.

Fortunately (gently steering us back on topic), Brandon Blume not only makes excellent music, but also is a very kind and understanding fellow. And maybe, despite my misgivings, I should consider taking his advice (and yours).

Where's Booster with his comments, though! This is his field of music genre ;).

Someone called my name? ;)
oh well I was just practicing on my old guitar, but now I am here my friend ;)
sounds like a kind of summer house...I have just a few things in mind...

the kick :o( doesn't pump...when you do a house tune you must feel the kick around your stomach and so on...it must vibe! :) the other one...basses for this genre usually are loops about 4 bars for each chord...and the bass doesn't pump enough either...

Pu-pu-pu-pump it up! :D

oh well different point of view and my instinct tells me that this is a wonderfull piece of music, I love the guitar sound...maybe I am a bit damaged by the production standards and genre specifications...great job Brandon! :)
