Was surprised to see the article in today's newspaper, pity the writer left out mentioning The Songs of Distant Earth! Ah well, after all it's still a bit of publicity for Mike here in Malaysia. :)

No replies... Darn.

Anyways, good to see a copy of the article on Tubular.net! :D To the admin in charge, could you at least mention that it appeared in The Star, a Malaysian daily newspaper? "Music, Myths & Legends" is just a regular column in the newspaper.

Thanks! :)

Thanks for posting, Andylkl. With the time difference, some of us tend to catch a few hours of sleep between reading the fora. :)  I've passed it along to Olivier for the articles section.

I am sure that reading the piece will generate some discussion, not to worry. This is a case where you'd (I would, anyway) really like to engage the author in a discussion about some of the things that he wrote....among other things, why he associates OTB with a quest for perfection, and how he can possibly say what he did about L + S. I for one, vehemently disagree. It is very odd that he left out any mention of TSODE, particulary in that he wrote what he did about L + S. Well....the article includes the guy's email address. :D

Actually, the guy said, ".....and it’s notable that many of the pop albums like Five Miles Out and Islands still had side-long experimental works."

Five miles out a pop album...?!
Either he has never heard it or he doesn't know much about music. That alone makes the article inconsequential in my view.
