He's new singel have a planned release before christmas 2006.
There will be 2 singles and the new album of course.
read more about it here;

"Jean Michel Jarre's NEW Studio Album is expected to contain between 10 and 15 individual tracks, recorded in both Stereo and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound formats, as he respects that the Music Industry has not embraced the Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound format revolution as quick as he expected.

Jean Michel Jarre's NEW Studio Album will therefore be released as a CD & DVD Set, the CD recorded in Stereo and the DVD recorded in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound which will include an, as yet, undecided abstract visual element to complement the music, like Jean Michel Jarre's 'AERO' Album.

Jean Michel Jarre explained that his NEW Studio Album is a very different concept to other Albums he has done. Conceived as an "evolving album, like a tree that grows", Jean Michel Jarre explained that the Album tries to "illustrate the different states of mind we have through life, all the different feelings and emotions, and evoke the different ups and downs in our life."

"The idea was actually to start with seperate tracks, and I had a lot of fun to do this album, so I think, I hope, it will reflect something quite different. It has a lot of freshness in it, quite melodic with also some tracks quite rhythmic. This would be the first version of this album, but what I would like to do, is to make this version evolve, like having some ambient version of it where suddenly what you considered as seperate tracks become like soundscapes.

I like the idea of having, for instance, a song of 1 minute that is not fully developed, and the next one could be something that lasts for 8 minutes. It's like a photo, actually, and I like the idea of having a snapshot of a track or a song, and later on you make the movie. Obviously the album is not only a snapshot, but we also have some short tracks that can be then remixed, or developed in different versions, and I like the idea of particularly these days where everything as we know in the music industry is in great difficulty, that they are looking for new ways of touching people, and I think it's quite interesting to be flexible in these days to give tracks or songs that can be in development."

When JARRE UK asked about how he intended to implement this concept of having these different versions of the NEW Studio Album's tracks, Jean Michel Jarre answered that they will "maybe released as seperate tracks on iTunes, or maybe released as another album, an EP, or something like that, or maybe released as a different version of the same album." He would also like to have some "more different versions in [his] concerts of these tracks".

Jean Michel Jarre also explained that he is intending to release 2 Singles from the NEW Studio Album, the first of which will be released before the Album is released, possibly before Christmas 2006, the second should be released after the Album is released in early 2007."

Archive JMJ out there I ve only got the Best of Albums and a copy of Metamorphoses as a snapshot of his Stuff..Still this still sounds fairly tempting as a basic tk can sometimes be better than some overblown  extended tk of the same..Let us know what its like on release !!

Hmm... Listening to the first single I'm not that sure that I'll like this album...

Téo & Téa [Edited to a better quality link]

But in fact, Jarre's recent works indicated this way quite clearly.

Still, it's better than Tout est Bleu. ;) But that only shows how much I don't like that song.

Here's the track listing, if you're still interested.

Oh... I perfectly understand what you're talking about. Something like a cross between Metamorphoses II and Moby. :D  I liked Metamorphoses, though... not one of the best Jarre albums, but still not one of the worst [side B of Waiting for Cousteau deserving that dubious honour, IMHO... :D]. I'm also hearing that he keeps travelling down the sonical path which he started walking on with the new stuff on Aero - and I'm quite happy about that. :)

By the way, is there anything to indicate that this is the first single? Looking on the Wikipedia entry, it appears like the .wma is from the last album track. Are the people at Warner so silly to issue an album's last track as its first single? OK, they've shown their silliness before :D, but this just doesn't look like it's the case...

ok folks  :D
Someone very kind have given me the promo album and i must say Jarre is
still in the trance/techno genre. There is no long tracks in this promo album, and it don't seems like it is going to be either.
Im really not sure what the concept is, but i feel this is a album about "she and he". Some songs are sensual and some is about the crime between partners. I think Jarre is abit of brave in his use of female voices, and lyrics. My guess is that the real title could be "sex" sometimes. That could also work better and if he had made longer tracks. I find some songs abit short i confess.

Are you curious?
Track 1
"Fresh News"
Typical Jarre start. I feel this song could be something better.
Alot of changing during the song, but cool sounds.

Track 2
"Téo and Téa"
If you like "Tout es blue" or "Light my sky" i guess you will like this.
This is trance and dance. I like it, but i also love trance and dance. A nice song.. really..
watch the video here

Track 3
"Beautiful Agony"
This is a song i never will play loud in my garden or my house. Either when my mum is on visit..
There is a female voice and she is stunning (having sex, or orgams) I did not know what "agony" meaned, but the stunning tells alot. He is quite brave with this choice of sex sounds.
The melody self, is very nice. One of my favorite in this album.
But i HOPE he takes out the dominate sounds from this woman.
My neighbour will belive im a new huge fan of porn.....

Track 4
"Touch To Remember"
if someone remember "Das boot" or what ever the title was on that song. That voice lives in this song and i dont like that.
It makes me tired to hear the vocals...

Track 5
"OK, do it fast"
This rocks. The melody makes me feel like the time is moving so fast. The title is perfect.
he have such cool sounds and samples. The best reason to skip track 4 and hear "Ok, do it fast"
So i do....

Track 6
"Partners in crime part 1"
Drums, voices and loops. Then out in this song a guitar is comming from the west i feel. A bit boring to me..
The song ends with fire.... and fades into the part 2

Track 7
"Partners in crime part 2"
slowly into the same theme again.
first some dominate drums and sounds, and so back to the west guitar.

Track 8
"Chatterbox"
the strangest track in the album.
Kind of cool with funny sounds and all that stuff. Funny voices and the way jarre do the whole thing.
maybe a bit weird.. maybe like "Zoolook"

Track 9
"In the mood for you"
a genious title. A slowly piece with a silent leading synth.
perfect chill out...

Track 10
"Gossip"
alot of whispering voices all the time, and not to loud either.
While you listen there is flying voices over your head (i feel)
And a repeating melody comes and go.

Track 11
"Vintage"
A happy trance song. Maybe a following theme from Téo and Téa. But this is much better!!!! I just love this. This is the reason why i love Jarre and i was very happy to hear this one.
I cant wait to dance to this.

Track 12
"Melancholic rodeo"
My favorite track from this album.
The mood is down and i dont feel happyness. But i feel tears, synths crying my ears. This is something i would hope jarre could done more of. The solo is amazing and it touch my heart really.

Track 13
"Téo and Téa"
repeat, and back to where we started.
Starting with loops and fades into the dancing cartoons and the same lyrics all over again.

So what can i say....?
I miss more on this album.
But i will not say too much. I hooooooooope that the orginal album is better. There are some songs.
But for me only 4 strong tracks...... :/
I love Trance so maybe he even get more trouble with them who hates trance.
You can email me if you want the promo album.

Please DON'T post any other mp3 or other file about new album! Me think : these samples are not a lot, but due to music piracy...  :p  :)

I DO think Teo & Tea will be far one of the best JMJ album ever!

Well... in the light of the new title of track 9, the reason for Jarre's choice of synth sounds, of the chord pattern and of the beat in that particular track, appears clearer to me now... Oxy being Oxygéne... :D... even if the ending of the computerized voice clearly says 'for you'... :)

I tried many times to get into Jarre and always failed. This time isn't an exception. I like trance/dance/disco/house/whatever, just not this track. It's just boring. And trance can be fantastic, when done well.

Maybe Jarre is like Vangelis. Captivating on paper, boring when you actually listen.

*goes back to listening to Onetwo*

I've just read this...Jarre admits that Téo&Téa was an "error",in an interview which appears on the italian version of Vanity Fair :

Quote
“Probably, even if I consider this album like an incident in the way (a mishap), something that is not similar to music that I have always made. I wanted to give myself a gift after a moment very hard in my life. It is a kind of film where I'm self-projected into: it puts on stage the loving encounter and all the energy that it can to trigger off”.

The question he's answering is: "Will you perform Téo and  Téa in Albanella [an Italian town near Salerno, where a sort of mini Italian Live Earth, called Powerstock Festival, will happen on July 26-28] ?"

"Incidente di percorso" in the original Italian article actually translates as "an accident on the road". But, yeah, the meaning is the same... "something that wasn't supposed to happen". ;)

"Something that doesn't sound like the music I've always made."

"Moment very hard" is obviously meant as "very difficult time". :D

Also: "A kind of film that I've projected myself in."

"It stages a meeting of two loving people and all of the energy that  it (i.e. such a meeting) manages to unleash." This (and the above) is a very literal translation of what the Italian text says. ;)

Apart from all this, I find it kinda strange that now JMJ thinks of T&T as a mistake. He seemed to believe very fondly in it when it was originally released... maybe was there something to make him change his mind?

Well, maybe the many not quite praising reviews by fans. ;) For myself, I'm glad that he thinks it a mistake now, I only like Vintage and eventually I got to like the title tracks - and with even those I'm not satisfied with the sounds he used.

I have -as you might have noticed on this forum- always been a fan of JMJ since the release of Rendez-Vous, sometimes 1986-87 and his really huge stage performances rolling up on the telly. I have to admit that amongst all the peculiar and crazy ideas this man has made, this one is the strangest and most "unexpected" for me. I can't say if it's something in his personal life, his new wife or some sort of crisis due to his age...I can't really put my finger on what it is that has driven him to behave like a 12 year old school kid with this album. Still I like 2, perhaps 3 tracks on T&T but I would really like to forget the rest, the sooner the better.
Perhaps something was missing in Metamorphoses and then came Aero, "greatest hits" in 5.1. Mike was releasing TB 2003(ok), Tr3's Lunas and L+S...I can't say that I was overwhelmingly happy about them, but they were nothing...nothing even closely comparable to Téo & Téa. It's the most priceless madness(if you'll excuse my expression)that has ever been brought to daylight by this man. Not even Zoolook has a chance. The most sensible act that JMJ has made this last year I think was the concert in Merzouga, Morocco with UNESCO under his wings in the middle of a nowhere desert and a few camels (figuratively speaking) looking at him. It was a beautiful spectacle with long speaches about the lack of pure water and schools in Africa. Perhaps we will see a DVD from that later on this winter, but best of all...he didn't play one single track from "then" upcoming Téo & Téa. :D

It is really weird...allmost a bit charming, but even so I don't want to call it a total mistake or disaster because I really think that it must be a completely new experience for Jean Michel Jarre that perhaps can become usefull for him in the future.
I will remember it more like..."the unusual experiment that didn't really worked out as expected". ;)
