While we're all in love with MOTS (i am anyway) it's worth looking at the quotes.I hear TB TBII and most obviously the very first phrase Mike himself plays sound very very like a track on Guitars (North wind?).
Of course he's done this all over the place (Woodhenge/First excursion) throughout his career.
Anyone know any more obscure ones?

Answers on a postcard too..... ;)

BTW TB and all it's sequels/remakes/ Live versions/remixes is is excluded for fairly obvious reasons.

The guitar phrase in Animus is not a reference to Out of Mind; the five note run has a completely different meaning in an E minor context than in an D major (in the key of A major) context. Because there's no underlying rhythm, it's hard to tell, but the phrasing is also different. I think it's a stretch even to think Mike took the phrase from Out of Mind and installed it on Animus - it sounds like a plain coincidence.

Well yes this is true.Look at indian music.Western music deals in semi-tones,Eastern in quater-tones.Very good point that man.I'm very glad i'm a musician in the west cos i have plenty of trouble with semi-tones,although i do love the sitar.
