Hi everyone,
I'm an independent film-maker currently working on a documentary about 1970s Punk/New Wave The Adverts. As some of you may know, the band's second album was produced by Mike Oldfield collaborator Tom Newman. I'm trying to track Tom down, but have so far not had any success. If anyone knows how i can contact him, please contact me at malcontentpictures@yahoo.co.uk
Any assistance that anyone out there can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Jamie Palmer

Gosh, I wrote him a letter once but it never got answered so I can't say whether the address was legit. It was given to me by a friend so I will ask if they still have it but I only have a snail mail address for them overseas so it will be at least two weeks before I get a response AND it was about 10 years. I was inspired to write to him after seeing him on a video taken at a Hiawatha meeting in 1996. I'll tell you all about that if you are interested.

Cheers,
Tracy.

Hi Jamie,

Tom could be contacted at Mike Oldfield´s place in Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire, for a couple of years.

That place (Roughwood Croft) has just recently been sold.

The latest news I have is that Tom left Southampton with his Minesweeper ENTERPRISE on 2 February 2005 and arrived safely at Kilkeel, Northern Ireland. Kilkeel is now home for his project "Pirates for peace":

www.piratesforpeace.com

pirates@piratesforpeace.com

There is also a phone/fax line on the ship - 01703 432534

Here´s another hint I found:

Down in kilkeel with the bus i met tom newman who owns a large old minesweeper which he moors in the harbour. it,s known locally as the peace boat and i interviewed him for your
place and mine about the onboard radio studio and the fantastic cross community work he does with trainee radio and
music volunteers in the area. a genuine local character! - Kate

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Cheers

Chris
