Sorry if this has been done before but how about a TOP 10 album list not including Mike Oldfield.

Here goes nothing.

Classics

1.  Radiohead - OK Computer
2.  Best of Doobie Brothers
3.  So Far - Best of Sinead O'connor
4.  Peter Gabriel - Shaking the Tree
5.  Nirvana - Nevermind
6.  Michael Jackson - Dangerous (sorry, had to pick one)
7.  Kate Bush - The Whole Story
8.  Jeff Buckly - Grace
9.  Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
10.The very best of Cat Stevens

Last 5 Years.

1.  Moby - Play
2.  Cold Play - Rush of Blood to the Head
3.  The Dissociatives
4.  Epicure - The Goodbye Girl
5.  Powderfinger - Odyssey Number Five
6.  The White Stripes - Elephant
7.  Cold Play - Parachutes
8.  George - Polyserena
9.  Hilltop Hoods - The Calling
10. Ben Harper - Burn to Shine

WOW, that was difficult, and I cheated, sorry, but I made the rules so I can break the rules, he.

Tracy.

I can do this one:

10.   Cirque du Soleil - Saltimbanco soundtrack
9.     The Beatles - Revolver
8.     Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell
7.     Pink Floyd - Meddle
6.     Yes - Fragile
5.     Harry Chapin - Verites and Balderdash
4.     Moby - Play
3.     The Who - Who's Next
2.     Pink Floyd - Animals
1.     Jeff Wayne - War of the Worlds

If I was to include live albums, Yes - Keys to Ascension, Harry Chapin - Greatest Stories Live and Roger Waters - Live in the Flesh would be 3, 2 and 1 respectively (I like live albums). Amarok still beats them all though.

I make no apologies for any of my choices and I am serious here: these are my top 10 non Oldfield albums.  Now I look at it it's a pretty funny looking list, and it isn't just the name 'Verites and Balderdash'. Nine artists and they're all completely different. All good musicians though (of course).

These lists can be so hard to do, and my list will probably change weekly. But the albums i play most regularly, and in no particular order are

1) Plastic Age/Adventures in Modern Recording - The Buggles
2) Closer to the Edge - Yes
3) Scissor Sistors
4) Play - Moby
5) War of the Worlds - Jeff Wayne
6) greatest Hits - Queen
7) Bladerunner OST - Vangelis
8) The Wall - Pink Floyd
9) So - Peter Gabriel
10) Slippery When Wet - Bon Jovi

actually No 1 is cheating, it's 2 albums but as I only have on home made tape back to back (original vinyl long ago scratched) i've counted it. And I wasn't sure if greatest hits are allowed, but the Queen one is so good.

I never liked it myself, but a chum of mine was always a fan, and I recently saw it and bought him a copy on a double cassette for 50 pence brand new.

If anyone is interested (and lives in Birmingham) I bought it at the Swan market in South Yardley.

"Dark Side of the Moog" is indeed a great title. Turns out someone has used it already:

Yes,but it's not only the only the "OOH-LA!" part that is striking at the album.Everything in ensemble is great:the story, the flow of the music etc.

I have not listened to the old LP for quite a while. I'd better listen again. The main thing I recall was that "Forever Autumn" stood above the other tracks.
