Hello everyone.

A few days ago, I read that Tubular Bells was the 11th best selling British album. This led to me wondering what the Top 10 were. If anyone can help, please do.

DEFINITES:
  • Dark Side of the Moon
  • Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (maybe)

PROBABLES:
  • Brothers in Arms
  • 1

POSSIBLES:
  • most Beatles albums wink
  • Queen- Greatest Hits I(I)
  • The Wall? Wish You Were Here?

Again, if you can help please do.

You mean that all of those ten albums, some of them quite, quite tragic, not only outsold TB, but Dark Side Of The Moon as well, which spent around ten years in the US Top 100 albums?

It's a very strange planet.

Um... no. Sorry guys, my mistake (under the weather), I didn't make myself clear.

I DON'T mean the Top 10 albums sold in the UK. I mean the Top 10 albums sold throughout the world that were recorded by British artists, ie albums from Britain that have sold the most copies worldwide.

Sorry 'bout that, great research there Vinz.

I can’t believe ‘BAT OUT OF HELL’ isn’t there. Jesus it was in the UK charts for long enough, couldn’t say for how long exactly though.

It still amazes me that the only other great album to come out in 1973(my birth year)that did'nt get to number 1,was Dark Side Of The Moon!!!

Dark Side of the Moon may never have got to number one, but it has probably stood the test of time more than any other album from 1973.
