Hi I was browsing a page set up by one of my Myspace friends. It's about Liverpool Stadium and many concerts that happened there in the early '70's   :D . Imagine seeing Queen, Led Zeppelin, the Edgar Broughton Band, Judas Priest, Hawkwind, David Bowieduring his Ziggy Stardust preriod,  and many more all for the pricely sum of 40-55p (UK pence)   .

There's scans of tickets from this period and one of them for 7 December 1974 features a showing of a Mike Oldfield Film Tubular Bells. I'm interested to know what this film could be, is it TB Part1 , with Steve Hillage and Mick Taylor on guitars, and the fairground horses as on the Elements DVD, or could it be another film set to Tubular Bells.

If anyone is interested the page can be found here (just scroll down), this webby is well worth a lookwww.liverpoolstadium-rockyears.com/id23.html

Good spot, moonchildhippy.

AFAIK this film was the TB Part 1 Second House performance, as you have described it. Because Mike didn't tour, the film toured instead. I've seen it mentioned as part of a Gong concert from the same period.

Hehehehehehehe... this reminds me of Elvis, sending off his gold-plated limo on tour instead of going himself, and of The Beatles, who were inspired by Elvis' strategy and were pioneers of videoclips because they wanted to be simultaneously present in all the countries where their records were hits (which were many :D).

Back on topic: yes, the film referred to is indeed the 2nd House performance as featured on the Elements DVD. ;) It's pretty much the only filmed performance of TB part 1 "from the era", i.e. excluding Exposed and all the later ones.
