Shortly after the release of the first Tubular Bells album, I saw a video shown on American TV of about 15-20 musicians playing part I of Tubular Bells with Mike Oldfield. Is it possible to get a copy of that performance? It still resonates with me as being one of the classic performances of that decade.
Thanks.

Is that anything like the one on the "Elements" VHS?

Yeah its the footage used in the Elements video. The original recording was made for the BBC and shown on the Old Grey Whistle Test (I think). It's one of those classic pieces of Mike footage that would be lovely to see on DVD, along with many others, but sadly I doubt it ever will in the current climate.

I'm not sure who all the musicians are. You can certainly see David Bedford on piano and Steve Hillage on guitar but I'm not sure about the rest.

It wasn't for Old Grey Whistle Test, but for Second House programme.

As Tati has said the performance included on Elements is the one at the BBC 2nd House program (you can see this name at the back wall). I have a video file with around 8 minutes and an audio one with the full track. If someone is interested...  ;)

I think there's a video file or VCD with the full track, but I'm not sure  :/
