Hello,

I think it's nice. I haven't actually heard the hard & holy mix, but it sounds really much like the original. I had this sort of a nostalgic feeling when i first heard it (the midi), because i haven't heard it in a looong time (the original song) and i think it's one of the best songs from EM... though EM isn't really the best MO to listen =) Anyway, nice.

I´ve just discovered the MIDI files in this site!!! I have a synth and I use to play concerts of music of my own and others´, but I used to make my own sequences... now I made a massive purchase of these files for playing... I´ve got some little sequences and I would like to share them... I know I only have to put them on midi format and send them... is there any other thing needed?

I will try to do something with them... I thing there were one of two from you... I´ll try to listen closely, I didn´t listen to all because I was busy downloading them... good work.

I´ve got 'Moonlight Shadow'(extended version), 'Guilty', 'Conflict', 'Celt', 'The Bag of Secrets', 'Man in the Rain', 'Top of the Morning', and I started 'Crises', I´ve got half of it made. Also the beginning of 'Ommadawn' and 'Incantations' part 3. I think some of them are all right, IMHO.

I will send them to anyone who wants them by e-mail, I only need to develop the GM version of them.

And when I can I´ll send the here.

Congratulations for all you who have made those great covers!!! ;p

Hi Delfin,
wow, I'm looking forward to that. Especially Crises!
As for conversion into .mid: You don't say which format the files are in now. But remember, a midifile MUST have the correct program change & volume at the beginning of each track, or it will sound wrong.

O.K., the format is one internal from my synth, but I´ll convert it to .mid by turning all sounds into GM bank, it´ll lose a little of the original quality of the sounds, but in that way I´ll be able to share all them with you!! And some of them are quite nice, I promise!!

So, the only thing left, to send it I guess it´s only necessary to drop it from a disk, isn´t it??

...yes, probably.

Just finished Women Of Ireland (see MIDI section).
In the original, there are 2 strange lead sounds:
1) In the middle part, which sounds similar to Pink Floyd's 'Crazy Diamond'. I used Oboe for that.
2) Near the end, very high-pitched. I used Charang for that.
What did Mike use to produce these sounds? Guitars? MIDI-guitars? Keyboards?

Anyone?

i'm a midi addict and I want all of Mikes songs in Midi. I've got all the ones that I've found. I really want a midi of the full Amarok but that would takes years to make.

Hi mirwais57,
if you check out the Amarok MIDIs at this site, you'll actually find that they already cover a large part of the album. The 1st part I called "Happy?", the 2nd part I called "Busy". Then I gave up, but others carried on. You 'only' have to patch all these files together.... That will take only 'weeks', not 'years', and you'll have the first 30 or 40 minutes... -Carsten-
