Let's put together a selection of Fan tracks, remixes and covers to create the definitive tube net album.
If willing Heaven and or Bee could create a cover?
NS could provide an introduction and liner notes ect.
And hopefully the artists on here could offer a track for inclusion.
The complete Pakage could then be downloaded as a whole.
I'm currently working on a remix of Argiers, when finished should be my best one so far :D
So I throw this idea out to the board let's see what happens
If you have music there and have never posted in fan music this could be a good start.

I'd be happy to write liner notes, as long as the musicians send the relevant information. A problem might be that musicians tend to post for a while and then are incommunicado... I'd like to see "Hand Across the Mountains" (obviously) but also "Rainbows in the Dark".

Great idea.  I've got mountains of music here, so I could donate something.

The Millennium Tube?

Tubular.Nights
Tubular.Knights
Tubular.Nuts...  :O

Alternatively - as is done with collections of stories - the title of one of the pieces could be used as an overall title (pluralized, if necessary). Thus, Rainbows in the Dark, Hands Across the Mountains, etc.

The biggest problem must be how to choose the tracks.

From all the fan created music just on these forums I have nearly a gig of music. Some brilliant cover versions and re-mixes (Tres Lunas 2, the collaboration FINALE amongst many), and some awesome original tracks (whatever happened to Brandon Blume?)

Would somebody go through all the old threads, hunt down lost mp3's and make a shortlist for people to vote on?

Or would you ask for submissions or recommendations?

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?

Hi Olrac
I think we should keep it current
And let the artist choose which track they would give
I will PM the current 10 or so guys and girls and ask them to participate

Also let's do it like Mikes Complete
In 4 sections
Covers
Remixes
Originals
And Umyx...... this will allow more to contribute

Ugo's Quicksilver mix is one I would like to add

And yes Bee it's virtual but let's have downloadable cover art so peeps can print out a cover for their collection
Nominate tracks if you want and we can try to msg the artist to get approval

Being a public board lets find a way to password the file so its only for members.

Do it Mike style too.
Limit it to 50 signed copy's release it late and make the download so slow it mimics the last fiasco with HR and O.

Only Joking on the last bit.

Just got your message, Milamber. So I am free to offer one of my songs?

I have put out two works in 2010: Highways and Eleven Gifts. I don't want to single out any tracks from the latter work, since they are all inseparable from each other, but I could offer pretty much anything off Highways. I think everyone is free to choose and I don't want to force anything, but I have to express a special fondness for A Landscape in Red and perhaps Somewhat Late.

EDIT: oh! Of How a World Is Built was released on early 2010 as well, but I'm afraid those songs are way too long to fit in the compilation... but if someone can squeeze Austin in it, I wouldn't be displeased. :)

As you know, all my music is released under the Creative Commons, so there are no restrictions for use, since as I understand this is not a commercial affair.

I'll look forwards to the other track picks! Great initiative, Milamber! :)

best cover
best original in the style of...
best re-mix... etc.... maybe have a selection from each group similar to the way they do it...?

:) ....just replied to your pm Milamber .

..well if you think one of my humble tracks could be included why not even if i don't think so . My music is not really well produced . So you can choose one and tell it to me and i'll try to work again the track to get it better .

..right now i try , since too much time now( .. months , ... years now !;) to finish my next piece of about 50 minutes "non-stop) ..something between  Incantations , Five Miles Out ,Crises , Amarok and electronic music etc etc :D but of course this would be too long for a single track !  :D

;) ..maybe we could do this album for a nice event like Prince Harry's wedding or more sad like Haiti's earthquake which it was the sad anniversary two days ago .

Yes so do I.

So sorry to hear about these tragic floods in your countries. It's all over our news as well - looks awful. I watched the Queenslands premier, Anna Bligh's emotional speech to everyone last night, - "we are ones that get knocked down but we get up again."

Like most musicians TT, we are all hyper critical of our own work.
I think your Beautiful Unknown Chant would be an excellent addition and can proudly sit alongside anything posted here.
The same goes for your latest One from the VR Games.

Yes the floods have been terrible although I am nowhere near them I have family in Queensland ,in fact my Aunt was airlifted to safety the other day.

Also it would be great if once finished we could find a way to get a copy to Mike, after the "Finale" he suggested we try something original and seemed interested enough to want to hear it.

Hi Tubularman.
I've been a big fan of your remixes for a couple of years now, long before I joined the forum.
Really great work and your CD presentation is second to none.

I suppose with all artists just put up a track that best represents your talent or has a special meaning to you.
And provide Nightspore via Pm details on inspiration, approach or even instuments or software used its up to you guys really :)
