This is weird, about 3-4 years ago,Mike was on UNCUT on VH1,and i still have it on tape, but the show was only 30 minutes, mostly music from Guitars and Tubular Bells 3,plus the great extended performance of Moonlight Shadow, but because the show is called Uncut,i thought that all i have on tape is all he recorded for the show,so,is this a new recording by Mike for VH1 or did they leave out music from the last show?,and they are now showing all of it?.

I'm pretty certain this will be the Mike Oldfield uncut from August 99. If I remember rightly the tracklisting is Moonlight Shadow, Embers, Summit Day, Secrets/FATC. It was half an hour long so if they're claiming there is an hours worth this time they must have extra footage (or a very long add break). If you haven't seen the performance before look out for amazing versions of Embers and Summit Day, both are a zillion times better than the album versions, way more dynamic and involved. You see what Guitars could have been like.

Its a shame, it looks like I can't get VH1 Europa, only the standard VH1 channel. Can anybody in the UK get VH1 Europa?

I relaly don't know if this "uncut" is longer than 30 minutes
but i was my guess it was about 45 mintues to 1 hour because
many vh1 programmes uses to be this lenght

Vh1 europa isn't that the standard vh1 channel for Whole Europa..the logo they use is the ordinary vh1 logo.

I say vh1 europa cause i think they have a USA only version of vh1 too shown only in the us ofocoarse..

I think VH1 Europa is, as the title suggests, the European VH1. We in the Uk either get our own VH1 or the American version (or both). MO is certainly not billed for either VH1 or VH1 Classic tonight in the UK. BUMMER.  :(

It doesn't look like it. The full list of countries that it's available in and the suppliers who carry it are listed on the site.

only 4 songs performed Moonligh shadow , Summit day ,
embers and Secrets/far above the clouds....hmm is that 5 songs ?  anyway ..a very nice perfomance by Mike Oldfield.

Shame,it's about time Mike did a great quality live performance,a nice special to be made into D.V.D. of lots of music, that would satisfy people who are waiting a long time for a tour.I loved Moonlight shadow from uncut, classic guitar solo, and a beautiful guitar :D

Its performances like this one that really would be apreciated on DVD. I'm sure a few of the 99 tour concerts were filmed, its a shame they will never be seen. If Mike is going to go through another phase of being in contact with the fanbase, and it seems likely with the second MVR coming out, then maybe early 2004 would be a good time to try and put pressure on him to put together a decent DVD.

I've no idea who Mike's manager is now, Korgscrew will know. I'm sure some of these shows will have been filmed, perhaps not many, but some will have been. Local netwoks and private company's sometimes film these things. I'm sure I remember seeing cameras filming the Albert Hall gig I went to in 93. I've never seen any of that footage, has anybody else? Even if none of the 99 tour shows were filmed we all know for a fact that there is literaly hours of other intersting live footage stretching back over the years. Funnily enough I found an old copy of the Airborne fanzine the other day and the was an interview with Jeremy Parker in it in which he states that one of the reasons why no live footage from the 10th aniversary Wembley gig is available is that the sound people cocked up the recording of it.

Personaly I'd be just as interested (indeed perhaps more so) in seeing old archived interview and documentary footage about Mike. Infact I'd like to see a really good in-depth new interview/documentary about him. With a new studio album probably a long way off next year may be good time for this.
