We can assume that Mike is/could be a difficult person to be with and the same goes to Tony Banks....(prejudices!!!
Now imagine the following, fantastic scenario...
Mike Oldfield (sporting a Pictures-in-the-dark-labeled vest) and Tony Banks (turtleneck pullover, stripped yellow and blue) are making an album (Tubular bells No.16 that is...?). Pretty soon they get up each others nose, after some ill-judged comments, a heated discussion and a disput over a meaty bass line (that slices through ya, Baby! and a guitar riff (AC/DC revisited).
The situation comes to a head when Tony's messing around with the precious TB16 tapes... Mike and Tony are ready for fisticuffs but decide to call it quits... Now they are sitting in the opposite corners of the room, turning their backs on each other...
Trevor Horn enters the room (and then there were three). He's baffled... "What's up, guys? " "The watcher and the tower...waiting hour by hour...",Mike retorts Trevor Horn:"I thought we were making an album here,lads...?" "Crises, crises", chips Mike in "I reckon that we need the power of love here, don't we?", muses Horn "But I commited no (nursery) crime...", snaps Tony. "It's because of him (pointing at Mike) that I got the keyboards wrong...You're just an ugly Ommadawn, Mike!" "And you can't dance!", snarls Mike (now he's looking sleek and sinister BTW) "What about Foxtrott then?", spits Tony Trevor Horn:"There's no reason to demonstrate your seriously high testosteron levels...but it already looks like you're having a barney. Let's pop out for a beer to bury the hatchet..."
Well, this is getting serious, isn't it? Will Tony and Mike ever team up again? Will they ever finish recording their crucial make-or-break album "The lamb lies down on Amarok"? Will Mike give Tony a jolly good spanking or will Trevor bring in keroppl aka Dave Gilmour to do some extra guitar parts?
How to continue? You decide! NEXT ONE,PLEASE!
