Hi,

I've posted two new Purple Rhapsody tracks on my MySpace page (http://myspace.com/rhapsodyinpurple).

I've been advised that the content on my current two CDs is too mixed to be marketable so I've decided that over the next few months I'll be creating two new CDs - one completely classical (provisionally entitled 'Interludes and Epiphanies' ) and the other using guitars, percussion, etc. (provisionally entitled 'In Dreams' )

The first new track, In Dreams, is the title track of the second CD.

The other new track, Interlude in A flat, will be from the classical album.

Hope you enjoy them. Any comments are most welcome, positive or otherwise ;)

Cheers,
Terry.

Hi Terry,

I listened to "In Dreams".  It started off quite nicely, and just as I was hoping something else might happen, I got to the really good piano section in the middle.  For me this is the best part of the track.  I do wonder if the guitar melody could be a bit clearer, possibly louder?  I like the mix of instruments and the piano is good, it's just the guitar seems a little understated.

"Interlude in A Flat" - very nice, the first part of the melody sounds very much like a track by Ludovico Einaudi - I think it's the first track from his album "I Giorni".  But then you get to a key change (chord change?  not sure which) and it really takes the piece to a new level.  Something was a bit wrong with the progress bar on the track though - it seemed to have maybe one-third or one-quarter of the track left, but it ended, and then the bar stopped moving?  This was at something like 3:09 on the timer.  A minor point but thought I'd mention it.

I added you on MySpace - http://www.myspace.com/benbarden - just so you know who added you! :)

Good tracks!

Ben

Thanks Ben!

I really appreciate that (1) you listened to them and (2) took the time to comment.

I've checked out "Interlude in A flat" on MySpace now... There is something wrong with their player because it is playing the whole track (3:09) but the slider is only going 2/3 of the way along. At least it's playing the whole track! :)

The guitar in "In Dreams" was a difficult one for me. I had louder, more sustained, guitar in there to start with but decided that it was too overpowering for the mood of the track so recorded it again with a more gentle effect.

Thanks again,
Terry.
