Hi,

I've almost finished work on my next album and I've got a problem.

I've got a track that I just can't manage to name so... I'd appreciate your help in 2 ways...

(1) Comment on the track itself - what do you think about the sound quality, the music, etc
(2) Suggest a name for the track and be in a with a chance of winning a copy of the CD when it's released early next year.

The track can be listened to here: http://soundcloud.com/purplerhapsody/competition-name-me

Full details of the competition are here: http://bit.ly/ibaG6X

I'll also accept suggestions by way of reply on here and on Soundcloud too.

Cheers!

Terry.

Hi Terry.
I love this track, is this the finished version ?
As I am a big fan of strings I would love to hear some on this would make it even more emotional.

Reminds me of something I worked on ages ago which was based on the planets and for that reason I would like  to suggest
"Syria Planum Undertide"  for your consideration .

Once again Beautiful work

Like that! good stuff :)

Took me a few listens to get my own feeling for the track. To me it would be called "Raindrops". Evokes (to me) pondering life looking out of a window while rain lashing the window, then calming a bit, lashing, calming more, still pondering - you get the idea!

"Raindrops" for me

Ginger - Looking forward to this CD coming out.

I choose "Reflections" - but if I don't win I'll buy it.

It seems to be conveying waves of contemplation or reflections, that are tapping into tender feelings of love and sadness, but also hope and gratitude - as if to say, it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.  :/ :)

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions and comments everyone!

@milamber - Thanks for the suggestion! But don't tempt me with strings!!! I decided a few months ago that this album would be piano only. The temptation to go off an fully orchestrate some of the tracks has been huge but I've managed to stick to my original concept... just!

@Matt - thanks for the suggestion. I can see where you're coming from with your description.

@nightspore - wow! That brought back some memories! :)

@wiga - Thanks for the suggestion and for the confidence boost! :D

Keep them coming!!!! ;)

Cheers,
Terry.

I kept hearing the Lyric "Save me" a mixture of despair and hope all in one bundle

The centre section would be excellent if it was slowed down a little, liked it though

The track is a little too busy.  However, with a bit of 'pruning' it could be a dynamic piece.

I suggest "The Storm Within."

For a guy like me who loves the music of people like Giovanni Allevi, Jim Brickman, George Winston, etc., contemporary solo piano pieces are always welcome. So congrats.

I have two suggestions, which are slightly modified from the names of two amateur bands I was involved with in the past:

1) Blue Morning
2) Soundpainting with Clouds

P.S.: Let me know when your CD is ready, I will buy it blindfolded. :)

Actually, you can't copyright titles. I know, because years ago, before Spielberg, I edited a collection of stories called Dreamworks.

There have been many different songs with the same title. Eg, Blondie's "In the Flesh", which is nothing like Pink Floyd's song of the same title. Another example is "Forever Young", by Alphaville and by Bob Dylan.

Terry, love the track and the concept of an all piano album.  I've suggested a title on Soundcloud under my real name but for folks here it's Empty Heart.
