Quote (ColdSun2003 @ April 08 2003, 17:04) | 1. "Heaven and Hell" in its entirety is a must-hear. Be mindful that CD copies of this album have remarkably poor EQ and some noticable glitches. RCA should really consider remastering it. |
Plus, the CDs only feature the front cover, so this is really just 'Vangelis - Hell' Seriously, of all the Vangelis albums I've heard (Hypothesis, Heaven And Hell, Chariots Of Fire, China, The Best of Vangelis and some stuff from Jon & Vangelis) this is the one I like the most, probably because it's already 'real' Vangelis style but not purely synthetic. I also like Aphrodite's Child '666' which is a really good prog rock album.
But why, I wonder (and sorry for OT), do people (sometimes including me) always draw a comparison between Jarre / Vangelis and Mike? I mean obviously they're very different from him (not going into the details of differences between Jarre and Vangelis here); what is it that so many people feel they have in common? Just because they all do instrumental music?
