What about this track and album? What was the intention of this album? Or just a bootleg with songs collected?

There are some songs of Tom Newman in it and David Bedford plays along or something?

My guess is this:

Variations on a Rhythm of Mike Oldfield - track done by David Beford. Who plays in this track? And why does it refer Mike in the title?

Superman (demo) - A demo track of Tom Newman where Mike plays the guitar. David Bedford not included (so to speak).

Day of the Percherons - Another track done by Tom Newman with Mike on it. David Bedford not included?

Have mercy on my eyes - Track done by Tom Newman.. does Mike play in it?

I have Superman and Day of the Percherons on the Tom Newman album "Faerie Symphonie".

Track 1: Variations....piece for 3 percussionists composed in '73 by David Bedford. The rhythm in the title comes from MO's TB and is used with his permission.

Track 2: Mike on piano, Neil Innes on Hammond, Tom Newman on Slide.

Track 3: Tom and Mike.

Track 4: Neil Innes on pud, Pete Cook on gob iron, Mike on bass, Hughie on drums, me on awful lead (as Tom put it in his own words)

Tracks 2, 3 and 4 composed by Tom Newman.

Tracks 2 and 3 are demos. Track 4 was previously unreleased and never made the Fine Old Tom album.

I especially like track 3. It made this CD worth buying.

So, it's just an official CD which can be bought?

Yes it is supposed to based on the bass line from the ending of the original Tubular Bells part 1. To be honest I can't really hear it myself.

This is one of very few collaboration recordings I would not recommend to any one. Tracks 2 to 4 are available on Tom Newman's Fine Old Tom CD as bonus tracks. And the title track isn't very good (only my opinion of course).

As a side note, Mike plays guitar on track 3.

Added note as I didn't see Blue Dolphins Question before posting my reply: It is an official release, Voiceprint VP191CD
